I'm trying to sell my Dad's spyder, with the ICSI handbrake, and haven't had really any serious hits yet. (Just listed it in the for sale section here, have had it on cycletrader and craigslist) Does the group think it would be worth it to remove the handbrake, sell it separately, and reduce the price of the bike? If removing, what would be a good price? IIRC, I think I paid $1100 for it. $900??

TIA,

Tom

Tom, If you decide that your going to take the hand brake off. Let me know what you'll take for the system. I'm a recent right-above the knee amputee. Just trying to get back in the saddle. Thanx

Hand brake would probably go faster if offered separately from the :spyder2:. Most do not use the handbrake system and are happy with the OEM set up for brakes.

Those that need the handbrake for their :ani29:, most likely want to add it to their current machine.

You might be a little high on your asking price, but that is your call. The "magic price" will give you a quick sale.

Sadly, accessories usually go for 50% and less of original value.

You might want to send a private message to Tom. He posted this back in September and it doesn't look like he's been back here since. Good luck, I hope you find a way to get on a Spyder. The ISCI handbrake is top notch!

Madamist, let me talk to my dad and see what his bottom dollar is. I don't think it will be 50%, as the brake only has about 40 miles on it. Thanks for the interest though. I'll be in touch.:)

I'm definitely trying to sell the brake separately if possible.

Thanks!

My experiences have been like Dwayne; 50% of new, unless still in package. ISCI makes fantastic stuff!

I would also be interested in it. if the person above does not take it. and only if he is not interested in it, sounds like he has a pretty good reason for needing it. I just hate not having a handbrake.

The action kind of quit in December 2014. I am guessing the hand brake is no longer available.

Good news though, here is a link for one and at your asking price.
