As a para, I can't feel my legs. The side panels on my 2013 ST can get really really hot and thought I need to find a way to prevent burning my legs. I purchased a pair of soccer shin guards for under $10 and rotate them 90* inboard so they lay between me and the bike. I wear them under my pants so no one knows. Works great.

I've found that wearing mesh riding pants helps a lot . . . even if I just have shorts on, under them.

Pwpalmbay,

I also have a 2013 ST-S that had hot side panels. I sent an e-mail to BRP cares and they said there is a retrofit with the 2014 panels. Long story short..From the time I saw my dealer to installation of new panels was 1 week. I believe there is an unofficial recall on these panels as the entire process was so very easy.

Best of luck and keep riding:yes::yes:.

Did they charge you for the panels or do they consider it a "recall" and BRP paid the bill?

No, haven't gotten that far yet. I have read about the heat issues but when you actually experience them, it's a different story.

Do the new panels make a significant difference?

The panels will be free and every one who has had them installed has said they make a huge improvement

I haven't seen anyone post pictures. Do they have more screens to let the heat escape or a more efficient airflow system?

I've got an RT so I don't know. Have you looked at BRP's website for pictures of the 2014 ST? You should be able to tell from that what they look like.

BRP supplied the panels and reimbursed my dealer. Extra grills in the panels. Look at the 2014 ST-S photos...same panels.

The best protection for the HEAT is BRP fixing the issue, not the riders, and that is my $0.2
