Hello, I HAD a problem with my cruise control going on but wouldn't set. My husband put a little air to clean out the dust, then a little electronic spray directly into the module. it works fine now. I suspect if I had gone to my Can Am dealer, they would have replaced the whole unit for around $400. This may not be a fix for every cruise control but it's worth a try. Rose

sometimes it is that simple..but like you said some dealers will take advantage. Glad you all gave it a shot..:roflblack:..of compressed air that is..

Yes, a little contact cleaner can go a long way... ;-)
Much cheaper than the regular dealership way.

I actually hate to do this. Really I do.
I am skeptical because the actual switches under the control are water tight, dust tight and dirt tight molded bubble switches. If it was for real the compressed air and contact cleaner fixed the switch. That means the switch is junk and needs to be replaced. It will fail again in minutes or days. The more common and likely cause is the brake light switch. Dirt can get in that switch and the brake lights can stay on. When they do the cruise will not set. This problem can be intermittent. You did not share what model and year of your Spyder. This can happen on all Spyders but it appears to be a bigger problem for 2013 ST models.
Maybe I am wrong so let us know in a couple weeks how it works out.
