I have never found a helmet that by itself was totally comfortable and have had a polyester bandana that I have worn under it for years it wicks the sweat and prevents any friction. Well I lost it a couple of weeks back and have been searching for one like it. Can't find one exactly like it but found the Halo brand and received it today. Wow what an improvement. It is stretchable ( my old one wasn't) and has a sweat preventer in the front to keep any from dripping. The band is padded a little and the ventilation on top is similar to my old one. I know I am going to love it  It is a bit pricey ($16) but it will make my rides much more comfortable. I always hated the helmet rubbing my forehead... no more:thumbup: I went with black like my old one and it is SPF 55 so it can be used around the yard or beach. It also has an anti stink treatment. You can chose from bandana, skull cap or just head band. Good for the ladies too to keep their hair from flying around if riding w/o a helmet ( I am ATGATT myself).

and looks like it will do the trick for you. I use the heat-out but it just slips over with out ties. Glad you found a suitable if not better replacement..!!

Does it seem to affect the fit of the helmet? I've got one that just seems to make things a bit too tight for comfort...

Just a hair around the headband but I would rather have that tight it keeps the helmet in one place instead of the wind moving it. It is comfortable for me.

There are a few highly rated bandanas most started out with bicyclists. I like the Protex one I chose because it stretches unlike other ones I have used it makes for a tight and secure fit.
