Just updated mine . . . I spent Tuesday through Saturday riding down Skyline Drive, the "Back of the Dragon", and through West Virginia . . . could not use the media player to listen to music on my Bluetooth headset because it just wouldn't work . . . hope this resolves the issue!

The easiest way is to go to garmin. Here is the link https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId=%7Bf9ca1dc0-4020-11e2-e8a7-000000000000%7D.
Follow the instructions and install Garmin Express on your computer.
Garmin Express will keep track of software and map updates and install them for you. Also will give you access to the full users manual and is updated as the firmware changes.

Yes. The software will only take a few minutes but the new map can take hours depending on your internet speed.

FYI, you can downgrade too! Just not through Garmin. There are several websites that provide all the code releases for most Garmin's. You can download it and put the code update on your GPS and be downgraded. It's a simple matter of connecting to a PC and copying the files.

Google search is your friend here to find instructions and download code.

I've got a file for a Spyder RT (I think...)
I found where the Garmin file is lurking in my system (Program files)
The instructions for it, said to open up the Garmin file ()
and then the vehicle file...
Only I'm not seeing a vehicle file... :dontknow:

"Log to Garmin.Com and go to the garage section."
I logged in, and just am not seeing a "garage section"...
Where did they hide it?

OK you're confusing me now Bob. If you want a Spyder RT as your vehicle, just choose it in your Garmin. It is preloaded on a CAN-AM model Garmin. Am I missing something.

Bob, I guess you don't read my DIY stuff.

I explain how to customize any garmin here:

http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?64842-Some-cool-Garmin-GPS-customizing-DIY-tutorials!

Also in there is the Spyder veihicle you can download.

Where did they hide it?Bob,

They are not "files" that you are referring to above. They are "folders". And the correct "Garmin" folder is not in your "Program Files" folder. It is on the Garmin GPS, itself, which you can access by connecting it to your computer.

But first, Billy is correct. If you got your Garmin from Can Am, the Spyder RT "vehicle" should already be in the GPS. To select it on our GPS, go to "Settings", and then scroll down to "Vehicle Selection", and you should be able to select it there. It will probably be the last one that comes up.

If you did NOT get your Garmin from Can Am, you can still install this vehicle on any Garmin that has the custom vehicles option. Best way to do that is just to follow Bob's instructions on the link he just gave you.

(I was going to upload the Spyder_RT vehicle file in a zip attachment for you but the forum software would not allow me to upload it. I'm still a "Junior Member" and maybe not allowed to upload file attachments yet.)

Aha!
The instructions that I had weren't very clear on where it was...
Now that I know to take a look in the "F:" drive; I'm pretty sure to find it!
Thanks!

EDIT: Up and running with a White Spyder RT, and an Australian girl named "Karen" telling me where to go! :D

REALLY stoopid question... :opps:

Has anybody ever found optional voices for the ZUMO from anyplace else; besides the Garmin website?
(I was kind of looking for Captain Kirk, Mister Spock, or even Picard...) :D
The Missus is kind of leaning toward someone like Mel Gibson!

You can buy, download voices and themes from Garmin. You can also download the Garmin Voice Studio and she can record her voice telling you where to go or your grandkids voices.

Hi Stevedfive, I am new to the forum, i was reading on your recent installation of CB and phone interface, I am About to get all of that myself and have some doubts/questiions: How are you liking your CB?, How about your Cell interface?, I read a post that claimed that the CB needs to be disconnected in order to use your phone???, Sorry about my bad use of this forum, dont really know what i am doing!! I am talking about RT 2014, (mine is black also).

I love the CB/Intercom system, love the cellphone interface, and love the GPS system. Everything is working great right now. Adding additional ground to the radios, adding the RF chokes, and replacing the CB antenna with the J&M Audio CB antenna has made a world of difference. The CB does not have to be disconnected. PM me and I will send you my phone number.

Bob, is the Spyder dealer list on your GPS the same old list that was created in 2009. To check search for Andrews Sports St Thomas ON. They have never been on the dealer list since they became a Spyder dealer in 2010.
