CO2 inflator

I am thinking of buy a few CO2 tire inflator to keep in the frunk for emergency. Have 2 questions:

Do you have any experience with these and how many would it take to fill the back tire to about 26psi
Are there any concerns with these for overheating in the frunk?

I carry a mini compressor works off the power outlet and takes up as much space as a box of co2 cartridges. Don't know how many it would take to get a rear tire from 0-26 lb's with full weight on it...:thumbup:

In the bike I carry a mini compressor but when I take the trailer I carry a large CO2 bottle, pressure gauge and air hose.

They both work quite well. The CO2 inflation kit I bought at Lowes.

Just make up a plug for your compressor that plugs on your battery maintainer connector leads...That way it should be a direct hook up to your battery...

I have one of the little kits that uses co2 cartridges. I also carry a mushroom plugger as well as regular plugs. Those little co2 carts work great, one cart will get a motorcycle tire up. I carry six in the spyder, the carts, filler (tiny little thing about the size of a mint), and the plugger kit all fit in a little bag that goes in the bottom of the trunk and takes up almost no space.

If you have a mushroom plugger, spray the shrooms with silicone every few months or they'll be a pain to use, or like me just carry some silicone spray.

I use a Co2 to get the tire mostly full then a Slime compressor to fine tune the PSI.

But this is if I'm out in the middle nowhere. If close to dealer, then AAA.

Went to cycle gear to check these out. They are on sale for $20 and draws less than 5 amps.....very small in size too.

according to the reviews, this will plug directly into a battery tender pigtail. i'm ordering one today. ( ordered today, 27 bucks shipped)

according to the reviews, this will plug directly into a battery tender pigtail. i'm ordering one today.

It has a SAE connector at the end. It comes with the cigarette lighter type connector plus one with an alligator clip. Really nice kit.

NO it not the same. It even has an air guage built in. I returned the one I got from Walmart.
It didn't work. I like the fact that this one screws onto the valve stem rather than clamping like my old Campbell-Hausfeld did. Apparently C-H has stopped making small mc compressors.

the $10 Walmart mini slime I have on my shelf has a gauge and screws on? even has the power button in the exact same spot as the cyclegear one pictured.

maybe the compressor in the one you have is better because the one I have takes forever to pump up a soccer ball...hahaha..

Took my front tires from 15 to 20lbs in a reasonable (to me) time. Certainly not as fast as the gas station, but reasonable for such a small device.

My $10 Walmart didn't resemble it at all and it was a slime also.

There are many versions/designs of slime compressor. I also have a slime that looks nothing like the one at cycle gear and the slime is rated at 15 amps.

This is what I did with my wifes spider and will probably do the same with mine. Works great and allows for multiple uses.
