What did you pay for your SM6 RT?

No one talks about this. 22k plus tax. No freight or set up fees. My first new car was 1,700.00 in 1972, I bussed a lot of tables for that car.

Picked ours up in Michigan 3 days ago and we paid $30,300.00 out the door w/$3,000.00 worth of accessories at no charge. Most I have ever paid for a "RECREATIONAL" vehicle!!!! Good luck w/the one you choose!

Just picked mine up last Saturday. The local dealer had to do a locate and bring a crated black SM6 in from a dealer 90 miles away. I used a mail coupon from BRP that gave me $1k off MSRP and an extra 1 yr warranty 3 yr total). I did have a trade but negotiated the price on the RT before I even mentioned that trade.

RT price was $21900 out the door (no sales tax here in NH).

3 year warranty and 3 years of roadside assistance included. As far as trade ins, shop it around. There was a 700.00 difference from dealer 1 to dealer 4. :banghead:

Just to bring this discussion back down to earth. Have you priced a '14 GL1800 trike as a relative "comparison" price point?

I never considered a goldwing trike. I never rode one. I did a quick looksee and the wing is pricey. Are you saying the Spyder is a bargain?

But if you DO look at some of the alternatives from strictly a price perspective... they match up quite favorably! :2thumbs:

I have demo rode both but haven't owned either one so all I can do is offer my observations based on my demo riding. The Goldwing trikes ( demoed two of them, a 1500 and an 1800) take more muscle to steer than a Can Am. The Goldings are a bit smoother and have a nice ride, no nanny to keep you out of trouble though. The two Spyders I've demoed (2008 GS and 2013 RT-S) have quicker low effort power steering. They are easier to maneuver in city traffic and the upright ergonomics of the RT suits me better. Cost wise a new GL1800 with a trike conversion can cost anywhere from $35,000 to $40,000 compared to a new 2014 RT Base at $23,000 to Rt Limited at $30,500. Triking isn't cheap, especially if you're looking at new ones but the Can Am Spyder RT is lower in cost compared to Harley and Goldwing trikes. If your don't mind a leftover 2013 or even a used one you can be triking for a lot less money. I haven't yet gone to a trike but I'm very sure my next ride will be a version of the Can AM Spyder RT.

The pricing issue is usually a "taboo" topic out of many others, not only on Spyders but pretty much any type of mayor purchases because of the price differences that has to do with location, timing of the purchase, and other factors. Too many members have gone :banghead: for that reason, and I am with the price I paid at the moment and just move on not looking back!;)

I think anyone looking to buy a Spyder or any vehicle would go to club sites to gain enough knowledge about product to make an intelligent decision. Pricing would be a big part of that decision or you have so much disposable income it just doesn't matter. :lecturef_smilie: I personally like the hunt for the best deal.

:agree: and I think all of us do hunt for the best deal. My point being that if customer A goes and buys a vehicle at dealer X after he did his research, customer B would do his research as well and buy it at dealer B because he knows the owner/salesman/is a long time customer, etc, but each dealer can negotiate different from one another, the research done by each customer is different and so forth. So when the conversation pops at some point with customer A and B, they will realize that their prices are different for these reasons.
