Hi Lamont. My wife Gail and I will be there. We are riding down on my Kawasaki Concours, as I won't have my 2009 Spyder until the spring. We will be arriving in Gatlinburg sometime after noon, Tuesday, Sept. 23. (Probably not until about 5 p.m.) We are staying at the Red Roof Inn.
Cheers,

I think that is the best idea. Only knowing many of the people by forum screen names, its hard to find people at events. I was going to suggest we set up a meeting place and a cookout at the SpyderLovers Shack sounds like a very good option. :2thumbs:

Hi again Lamont. Could you add the name "Noukone" to your list? He is a Spyder owner from my area who will be riding down to Gatlinburg with us. He is not on any forums, as English is his second language, and he is not really comfortable with using the computer.
By the way, is there anything you need us to bring? Sounds like you will have quite the crowd!
Thanks again,

Got him :doorag:

I'll have burgers, dogs, chips, soda and maybe some watermellon. If you want to bring anything else that would be fine. The only thing I ask is no alcohol, I like to know everyone left my place with their head in the right place as I couldn't deal with someone getting hurt or killed leaving my party because they had too much to drink.

If you guys want to blow off some fireworks after dinner we could do that too. I've done that for many of my parties up here and it's a blast and there are a lots of places to get fireworks right there in the Gatlinburg area.

To LaM and NMN. The offer to host the cook out setteled things for me. I am sorry that I cannot attend but I will be placing my order for the CalSi windscreen as soon as the coffers refill the first of the month (the supprise arrival of the RED SE-5 seriously depleted my fun money for this month)!

The though of riding in freezing weather with the full wind blast really bothers my old bones. The Pacific Coast really did spoil me for a full protection machine.

One note, I figured out that if I would install any sort of riser of pull-back I would require the mirror extensions to see around my body. I am lucky that I have rather long arms and am used to the position from years on the Nighthawk and Pacific Coast.

Wish I could be there but not at this time. We are starting to gather a good number of Spyders in this area and maybe by next spring I will have things with the new farm settled enough to try to put together some sort of gathering in Robertsdale.

Till then I will just ride as much as possible.:clap:

I won't say for sure yet but this cookout just might turn into a real BBQ too. A couple of members have offered to provide some Tri-Tip for the cookout but we won't know till Monday if they can get it here in time.

How many of you East Coast folks have ever had Tri-Tip? :yes:

I'm going to the Bike Blues & BBQ Rally in Fayetteville, Arkansas, so I will miss your rally. Will there be another one next year? If so, do you have a date set? Would love to come.

Embedding the web cam output : web cam HTML Listing 1 for FTP

The Live Cam is basically an image which is sent via FTP (file transfer protocol) to my web space every 2 seconds. The HTML required for the image sent by the WebCam32 application is as follows, and should be placed where you want the updated image to appear in your web page:

<applet codebase="http://www.robertwisbey.com/ (http://www.robertwisbey.com/)" code="JavaCam.class" width="320" height="240">
<br>
<param name="interval" value="2">

<param name="url" value=http://www.robertwisbey.com/webcam32.jpg (http://www.robertwisbey.com/webcam32.jpg)>
<br>
</applet>

This is a pretty good way to do it but there are free applications out there that let you set all this up and have a gui to change the options. I have several around my house all manned by a server that is running the software. It is streaming instead of FTP for that live action stuff. Mostly, just to watch my dog dig in my back yard..I swear she knows I am watching when she does it.
Lamonster, if you got the hardware, I have not problems helping you get this setup while I am out there. I will bring my cam and show you how easy it is.

Well guys it's a go. :clap:Spydroe (Pat) has sent me 10 Tri-Tips for the Cookout/BBQ and they should be here on Tuesday. This was a very generous gift as this will cost him well over $200 bucks to get it here. I would like to personally thank him and if none of you guys show up on Thursday that's okay.:D:joke:

Thanks again Bro. You and Magic Man have made this a very special event with your generosity.

I don't have a webcam but if you point me in the right direction I'll go get it. We have a Staples here that has those I think. I like the idea of no code, I've been fighting code all week. :sour:

By the way if your doing the ride with the SpyderTalk guys to Maggie Valley and then Wheels Through Time you will be heading back in my direction on the 209 and then to Hot Springs. Hot Springs is 34 miles from my house and you follow a river a good part of the way. You would be at my place by 4pm at the latest.

Here's a link from Hot Springs to my place.

Another day closer. I almost wish I lived farther away so I could be on the road right now heading for gatlinburg. Always heard getting there is half the fun.

Sorry I can't make this trip. I did want to, but can't work it out this time. I wanted to meet all of you going, and to see all the mods you've made. I hope somebody takes pictures and post them for us all to see.

It looks like the weather is going to be great. Have a great time and I hope to see you next trip. :pray:
