Has anyone tried to mount their own tire on the Spyder rims
I was thinking of using the Harbor Freight tire mounting tool
Thanks

the guy that bought my 13 rt owns a hubcap and rim shop. he told me that the rim is made for a company he has and he can work on the tires and rims. so the way that sounds to me than any tire shop can work on the wheels

I use that HF tire changer when putting on new rubber on my F650.
Expect scratched up rims if you try it. Just say'n.

Use the MoJo lever.
This greatly reduces the scratching and marring, while providing great leverage.

I got mine mounted at the shop where I bought the car tire.

if you have never done this before... these are not the rims to learn on. Most car tire shops can do it as well as other bike shops.

I do car and bike tires by hand, I use that harbor freight thing for the bead breaker on the bottom and the rim clamp, but I don't use their big honkin 'lever'. It's not shaped well at the ends and is real easy to mess up a rim. I use multiple smaller levers and for the spoked wheels a bead holder to keep from having to chase it.
OTOH all my stuff is old so I don't have any low profile tires to screw with. Wife's new fangled cars get tires done at shop.
