No, that is not news. But this was the first fill-up where my Spyder exceeded 40 mpg. This one was 42.1 mpg. Since the first tank full I have been in the 38 - 40 mpg range.

Good news. I am coming up on tank #5 tomorrow. 1 and 2 got me 37 mpg and 3 and 4 got me 38 mpg.

UPDATE: Tank # 5 gave me 37 mpg.

I should switch my 998 engine to 1330 and SE6

You'd still have belt drive though...
How many miles do you have on your bike so far? :dontknow:

With 2500 miles on the bike, mine seems to be running at about 37 mph average. So far I've had a low of 36 and a high of 42, but I don't run eco mode and I'm getting to the point where I really push it on the back roads around here

About 2100 now. I do not use the Eco mode, but do generally shift between 2100 - 2500 rpm. Also note I use non-ethanol 87 octane.

My average for the 14 is 32.2 so far after 2200 miles if I recall correctly. US gallons, high test but everything has ethanol around here which definitely affects millage. I use the additive every fill but it does not affect mileage. I do not know much about gas pumps, but if the pump dispenses from the same nozzle, how much regular gas is flushing into my tank before the high test begins filling? That would be a good argument for using up a much of tank as possible if indeed the line has to be purged.
