Is this on an RT? Seems a little low, at low speed driving I get around 34 - 36.

Pulling full trailer...highway, sometimes very strong crosswinds. Worst: 32.6. Best: 37.2. Almost 4000 on odometer. Definitely liking the mpg improvement go '14. RTS SE6

it's averaging 34.6 mpg, mostly day trips of 100+ miles per trip. Sunday's outing was 270 miles and included everything from some interstate, some dirt roads but mostly state routes at 55 mph. That day have us 36.2 mpg.

Finally ran a tank of gas with the Spyder out of eco mode. Filled up at 320 kms with 20 liters. That should be close to 44 miles to the Canadian gallon. That is a 10% improvement over running in eco mode all the time.
Machine is understandably a lot peppier so what is the eco mode for?

Can't answer your ?.:banghead:..used once didn't like the "less" power and reallllly didn't like the less power...so no more ECO mode for me, even when pulling trailer.

Most of my driving is suburban and country. Depending on how I "get on" the bike from red lights......I get low of 31.7 to high of 38 point something (I was elated so I didn't pay attention after the decimal point).

Low 36 high 42 without using eco mode or paying much attention to "babying" it on the takeoffs or thru the twisties. As long as I can make 200 miles on a tank (33 mpg) consistently, I'm a happy camper. Anything above that is "safety margin" to me.

I just finished a benefit ride in VT, 120 miles to get there, 120 for the ride and 120 home - average across the rides was 39.5mpg. (I was in eco mode, which is fine bye me) Vast improvement over the 22.5 mpg on my 2013RTSE5.

With a little over 1100 miles now. My first three tanks got 37 mpg and my last two tanks got 38 mpg. I like the trend. This includes all kinds of roads and speeds so far.

Now if I could only get that 2011 to keep up with me. :roflblack::roflblack:

If you keep doing that to her; it could start to get expensive! :D :yikes:
How does her bike do for fuel economy on the same runs?

The 2011 RT gets a consistent 31 mpg. A big difference on longer rydes. I can go almost 50 miles more than the 2011. I am going to have to get over ryding until the gas light comes on for me and get gas when it is fill time for the 2011. Just another piece on the 2014 learning curve.

So; for the fuel savings alone, it makes PERFECT sense to put Linda on a 2014 also!!! :2thumbs:

Using Fuelly to track my average, my overall average is 32.02, I got 34 once but one tank I only got 25 I think it was. I have averaged over 18 fill ups but this average includes a long ride with a lightly loaded trailer so it has affected my average. Now I have left mine in Eco mode so far, I am going to Reno on Friday so I will have my trailer and will try no eco. I hope to see better mileage on this trip, lot more flat country than around this area.
