Removing Cat. Just curious am I going to have a problem with bike in NY if I remove the Cat? I have the cat bypass on order. I don't want to put the cat back on once I put the bypass on.

hey bud, i would think your dealer would have no problem inspecting the bike being there are no emissions being checked

:agree: Have you ever seen a bike hooked up to a "sniffer", for the required annual inspections? I haven't...

If you have a regular dealer, take it to them...and don't announce the "no cat"...should be no problem unless they are real boneheads. Just sayin'

In life we worry 95% of the time over things that never come to pass.

Me included.

California will probably be the only place to worry. I bought mine in 2012 and have not been asked for any smog checks. The cars for sure. Texas was the only state that I have been in that has a true safety inspection. They would let you know if you should even be on the road.....:roflblack:

I just had mine inspected today at the dealer and it was a non-issue. I am in NY with no cat, Akrapovic exhaust, KewlMetal airbox and PC5 / AutoTune. There is no emissions testing, so you are good to go.

I fear that you may be correct... :gaah:
They DO make sure that all of the lights are working properly, that the tires have some tread on them, and they give the brakes a squeeze...
hopefully; that means that they're concerned about having us on the road with safe vehicles... :D

texas only checks the follwing:

brake lights
running lights
head lights
horn
turn signals
brakes sometimes

never have had any insp on tires, exhaust but i always worry about my tires i don't want a blowout if i'm out having fun but i've never heard anyone say they didnt pass because of tire wear.

[QUOTE=Deanna777;812403]Good question. Deanna777[/QUOTE

Actually yes---Arizona---one in exhaust. Some County's are now exempt. Thank god I do not have to do that anymore. Ours are done by the state not the dealers or service centers.
