Newbe here... Have just bought a 2014 RT-S... Have been riding 2 and 4 wheels for years....but time to let these old knees have a better and safer ride.... My question is... do you let off the throttle when shifting the semi auto trans? I have tried it both way (throttle on and off) and it seems to make no difference...Thanks in advance

No, if its like my 12 rts you do not let off the throttle to change gears

Coming off 2 wheels, you have been trained to let off the throttle for shifts. BRP has built this into the SE5 (SE6 in your case). It's what we refer to as the "blipper". The computer makes this throttle change for you so you can continue to keep on the throttle. Whether it be slow acceleration or fast (or downshift), the computer will take care of it for you.

Kind of thought that ... but just wanted to make sure... Thanks

When shifting to a higher gear, do not let off the throttle. When downshifting letting off the throttle will make a faster downshift.

this is just like your car. The difference, hence semi automatic, is you paddle to the next gear. Stay on the gas. Enjoy the ryde..!! :ohyea:

:congrats: on the new ryde. :welcome: to the site.

They have you covered. No need to back off on the throttle when shifting.

When downshifting letting off the throttle will make a faster downshift.

And smoother too.
