You can start it in gear, if your foot is on the brake pedal...
Try pulling up any active codes, once you get it fired-up!

Could be battery or electrical connection. My first guess.

You can manually get the bike into neutral by moving a bolt under the bike - instructions in your manual - and your tool kit should have the required tool.

My '13 won't start unless in neutral. Pushing the brake does not work.

Try rocking the bike back and forth a little and then try neutral again. Works for me.

:agree: It's kind of underneath the bike; nearest to the panel you remove to check your oil level...
You can get a wrench on it, and click it around; your manual can fill in the blanks that I've forgotten... :opps:

Last week my 2012 RT SE5 was not going into Neutral from 1st gear. I would have to shift into Reverse and then into Neutral. It just won't go into Neutral from 1st gear, but would coming from Reverse. It doesn't do it all the time, so I can live with it until I have my next service in a couple of hundred miles.

Look under the seat, the tool kit should be attached to the underside with Velcro straps.
