With all the postings of people trading in their Spyders for the 14's it has me thinking that dealers must be over whelmed with used ones.
What do you all think?

Our "good" dealer said he can sell all the 2010"s, 11's, or 12's that he can get - he has pent up demand, especially since the new ones are stratospherically priced. OBTW, the 13's will be around for a loonnnnggggggg time....

Not surprising that they can sell the used ones. These are expensive toys and for most people that upgrades through the years are VERY incremental. I couldn't find a good enough deal on a used RS-S when I bought my 2013 in late December. If I had found one I'd have bought it since I'll go for a 2015 if they give me more power.... Oh well. :)

they should..but seeing as the get certain amounts of the new ones they can only trade that many. Used ones go pretty fast so I don't see many at the dealers I go by....

It could be tough to be a dealer in some places. In places where they are not going out the door in droves, those trade in's are going to sit around collecting dust.

When I bought the 2011 new in 2012 I traded a pristine Kawi Vulcan 900 LTD. They gave me $7,500 and had to sit on it until the next summer when they ended up selling it for $6,000. I paid $8,500 for that bike a year and a half earlier.

Not surprising, the dealer was not happy to see me again this year with my 2010 to trade on the new 2014. He is going to have a bunch of money tied up until the 2010 sells. In the end, a great dealer to deal with. He knew how much I wanted the 2014, and is probably going to take a bit of a hit again.
