For those of you using heated clothing where did you locate the 12V BMW type receptacle on the body work?

I have a 2014 RTS and had the dealer put mine underneath the seat. I just pull it out, shut the seat and hook it up to my clothing. Works great. I have a plug that connects to the battery though, its not a 12 volt. But I do have a 12 volt plug that my dealer put on the dash board on the left side thats good for plugging up accessories and is live all the time.

The heated gear outlets are wired direct to the battery and pigtailed under the seat as above. Pull them out the side when needed. The 12 volt outlet is mounted in the frunk. I ran power cords up under the bars for gps etc. There are some nice water tight plugs for heated gear that are body mounted which work as well. Depends on what you need and how often you use it...

Some people mount them in the speaker grills.

My wife has a heated vest and I fitted a BMW-type socket right by her left hand, fused to 10 amps. I don't use heated gear. I use this same socket to plug in a C-Tek battery monitor.

Thanks all, that's what I was looking to for, where folks mount the (BMW type) outlets - such as the speaker grill and in the body work for my wife. It get a might chilly here in New England in early spring and late fall. We've even used our electrics in Nova Scotia in late summer.

For the front one I use a right angle plug for clearance for the handle bars. I purchased eveything from this company http://www.powerlet.com/
