in your honest general opinion... what is the best aftermarket seat that you have and why for a 2008 Spyder GS

Dave, I know you do your own and I'm getting ready to do what you did based off your website, but I'm nervouse if I just put a little flatness to the drivers seat where I will insert the Gel pad, will the original cover go back on well and look good still??

thanks
Rich

Only had the original and the comfort seat. Very happy with the comfort but have not tried all the rest. You have to ryde with groups where you can find the others and try them out. Can't say which one you will love....:dontknow:

I met up with a young lady at SpyderFest, who had some pretty severe pain after riding the OEM saddle for her 5 hour trip to Springfield.
She bought an Ultimate seat from Des...
After her ride home; he let me know that her level of discomfort was almost completely gone!

I Love the ultimate on my 09GS because you sit in it, has a better back support, and moves me a bit more forward for a more aggressive riding position.

Whichever you get, have it fit to you. Try others...best money you will spend for comfort.

My '08 GS had a Russell Day-Long with a rider's backrest, good for 800 mile plus days.

I had a Corbin and backrest combo for my 2008 GS. I liked it a lot. It went with the :spyder2: when I traded it off.

Ultimate with back rest is my favorite. But I had no problem with the stock and BRP comfort seat either. I think the back rest with the Ultimate makes all of the difference for me.

After trying about a half dozen different seats, I finally took the time and shaped my own and then sent it to Dave to have a cover made. Its the best move I've done and I should have saved myself the time, money, and aggravation and done it sooner!

Its not difficult. Just takes some time and is a messy process.

you should be able to flatten it out and install the gel and reuse the cover
many people here have done it using my GEL... you can do it..

Seats are so personal, it's really hard to say which one is best because it varies from person to person.

That's why I only make custom seats.... NO mass production here
