Have a 2011 RT-S with a stuck seat. Have had problems since we bought it. Any ideas as how to open it? Any help greatly appreciated.:banghead::banghead:

I gather that turning the key to the right; while pushing down it, is ineffective...
Some folks have talked about using a screwdriver to push it latch open. :dontknow:
Perhaps the latch and/or the cable need some lubrication.
Good Luck! Please let us know what works!

I used a long metal rod with a hex key attached and was able to get the hex key over the latch and it opened. After I got it opened I removed the latch from the seat and no more problems.:yes:

The seat will get stuck or hard to open if it is not adjusted correctly
Take the passengers backrest off and loosen the 2 rear bolts [do not take them all the way out] for the set
move the seat around a little and see if the latch works
if it does tighten the rear 2 bolts [10mm]
if the latch does not work then its the cable or latch
good luck
Don

The seat has been working on and off since I bought. Will try some of these ideas and let people know. Thanks for ideas.:yes:

After I had that issue twice, I removed the latch.

When I had my OEM seat, I too had to remove the latch. It was very frustrating. My body weight was holding the seat down when I rode.

. My body weight was holding the seat down when I rode.
That's funny ...
My body weight is also doing an excellent job of the same task! :D

(Perhaps TOO good!)

Spyder sat for a couple of months and the seat latch got stuck today. Removed the right side tupperware (the panel with the Can AM logo), found the cable and tugged at it a little to free the latch. Cleaned and lubed the moving parts and it's fine now.
