Do you have any other dealers nearby? I'd call them, and ask if they'd be willing to mount the Kumho tire for you.
Some dealers do; some don't! :dontknow:

Well... They are; but only because that's what is stamped on the sidewalls... :opps:
(And the flimsy, two-ply construction...)

FOUND ANOTHER DEALER APPROX 50 MILES FROM MY HOME, BUT THEY WILL MOUNT MY AFTERMARKET TIRE W/O ANY PROBLEMS -- AFTER MUCH STUDY OF THIS WEBSITE I WAS OF THE SAME IMPRESSION
THAT THESE WHERE NOT MOTORCYCLE TIRES, OR EVEN CONSIDERED THAT THEY WHERE. SPENT ALOT OF TIME AND MONEY AT THIS DEALER OF PURCHASE, I UNDERSTAND THEIR LIABILITY CONCERNS, BUT
DONT GIVE POOR EXCUSES IN HOPES OF GETTING ME TO PURCHASE A TIRE FROM THEM @ OVER $155.00 , PLUS THE LABOR, ALONG WITH ALL OF MY PAST PURCHASES THERE. AT THIS POINT IN TIME I MAY
BE USING A NEW DEALER FOR EVERYTHING CAN AM IN THE FUTURE --- CAN YOU SAY FRUSTRATED:banghead::banghead::banghead:

I know that you're frustrated...
But the dealer is looking at (what is in their eyes...), a potential liability issue that they cannot ignore.
Now; we know more about this, than they do... nojoke The Kumho tires (and others). are a much better tire!
But they're also trying to do what BRP tells them to...
So you just have to make your clls, and go where you can get the job done!
And I'm glad that you found a shop to do the work for you... :congrats:

I wouldn't even try to guess how many KUMHO ECSTA AST ( 225-50/15 ) are out there, on the back of Spyders, but it has to be one of the top after market tires of choice. Installed one on my '08 GS two years ago, and have over 15,000 miles on it now.
Last week I had KUMHO Solus KH 16, 185/65R 14 installed on the fronts.
I'd look for a different dealer.

I'm in the process of changing out my rear for the Kuhmo. Dealer installed. (Buying from Discount Tires) Too many great reviews to go back to the stock Kenda. Will be replacing the fronts w/ Generals. 185 / 65 / 14
