I got to ride in the right seat of an FB-111 . . . I'll probably never move that fast, or faster, in my life!

All I got to do was taxi the F111F. But did get several rides in F4s.

I would want a ride in the F-18 Super Hornet or F-15 Strike Eagle.

Closest I ever got was a few hours in the T-38 & T-37 simulator.

The SR would have been nice but very confining. The cockpits on her were small and considering the "spacesuits" worn by the crew, very confining. Picture being in a smartcar while wearing 8 layers of cloths, three heavy jackets, a full face helmet, three pairs of gloves and the heat on full.

The cockpit on the Blackbird was HOT. Inlet air came in at about -40 but the crew could still heat their inflight meals by holding them on the canopy for about two minutes. What was neat to watch was when they cranked up the special start cart, two 427 turbo Chevy engines.

In England, I lived five miles from the base where they had the SR. When they took off on an early morning mission, we would hear them for a good 20-30 minutes after takeoff.
