I noticed that I have no air pressure gauge in my 2014 tool kit, did they drop them?

Yup!
Cost-cutting; getting WAY out of hand! :gaah:

They weren't the greatest gauge anyway. I've got one with a long flexible end which makes checking the rear tire much easier.

I was watching for any information about the 2014s...
When I saw that the air pressure gauge wasn't in the toolpouch any more; I made sure that my trusty "2010 model" gauge was left at home, when I delivered the tools and final paperwork to the dealer.

Pretty sure that's going to do a great job for me. No uneven front tire pressure in my future

I'm pretty sure I shipped your order Monday and it had 3 day delivery as I recall so you should get it today. But wait the nice lady at the drop off said something about the post office not picking up Monday... was it a holiday of some kind. In any case you should have it by tomorrow.

Attached to the seat, not the Spyder itself.

Our tool kit came tightly strapped under the seat. I could find no explanation of what tools it was supposed to come with or what they were for, except the tire pressure gauge, for which the owner's guide says - Pg. 134. under tire pressure, "For your convenience, an electronic pressure gauge is supplied in the tool kit." ( No picture - guess you can't photograph what doesn't exist)

What dealership did you buy your RT from and what model is it? A picture of the gauge and/or toolkit would be appreciated. Thanks

Get one of these. Guage and air compressor all in one. Price says 39.99 but mine came thru at 19.99.

Would anybody like a tire pressure monitoring system for their Spyder?
First one to PM me their mailing address; gets it! :2thumbs:

Since you are talking about tire pressure gauges, the book says 13PSI for front tires on a 2011 RT Limited, but the tire itself says 30PSI. Can I put 30 in? What would happen if I do?

The biggest problem is trying to get the front tires within the factory specs of ± 0.25 psig. Darn near impossible with a normal air gauge. That is why I invented the Dual Fill (http://gnipsel.com/spyderstore/index.php?route=product/category&path=25) to get the front tires to the same pressure.

I run 17 psig in mine, I don't think you have enough weight to run 30 psig any how the tires say max load 386lbs at 15psig.

I put 22 PSI in front tires and 27 PSI in the rear tire.

Although the pressure recommended by BRP is 13 psi, the sidewall is marked 15 psi minimum. I would not go below that pressure. The 30 psi marking is usually the pressure at which the maximum rated load can be carried, but it may actually be a maximum pressure on some tires, depending on the wording. I would also not run this pressure on the Spyder, as the handling generally deteriorates at higher pressures. Most people seem to find that 20 up front on the RS and about 17-18 on the 2010-2013 RT (and a bit higher for the 2014 RT) seems to work best. No comments from the ST folks, but I'd try 20 there first. Remember that these are cold pressures, measured after several hours of being parked...preferably overnight. It costs nothing to experiment a bit, just stay within the minimum (if marked) and the maximum printed on the sidewall.
