Well Folks...here it is: Caswell Ride List 2014. Just remember every once in awhile we need to change the dates or destinations of these rides so this is not carved in stone, but penciled on it! I am also attching an updated Riders List. Please check it to make sure that our info is up to date and let me know if any changes need to be made.

March - to be announced, weather permitting this will be a meet and greet at Caswell Cycle in Mora.

April 12 - meet at Caswell and if the weather is decent we'll all decided on desitnation and duration of the ride.

May 10 - Lunch at Gordy's Hi Hat, Cloquet

June 7 - Cheese Ride with lunch at The Drive-In, Taylors Falls

July 26 - Kanabec County Fair Parade, Hot Dogs and the works back at Caswell's after the parade

August 2 - Mille Lacs Lake Circle Ride, lunch at Flagship

August 30 - Sept 1 - New Ulm Overnighter

September 27-29 - North Shore Overnighter

October 18 - St. Croix River Color Ride

November - Maybe if the weather holds!

Please arrive with a full tank of gas. We do ride in the rain (not storms) so always bring your rain gear with and we always stop for fuel and food. All the single day rides start out at Caswell's, arrive to register and chat at 9am, rides leave at 10:00am. The overnighter rides everyone leaves from their homes and we group up at the designated motel on the first day. Remember all rides can be overnighters if any of you want to stay longer at any of our desitnations and vise versa, any overnighter can be a day ride if you can't stay the whole time. We are looking forward to a great riding season and can't wait to see you all soon!

We will be staying at the Microtel (1.507.354.9800) as above, tell them you are with the “Caswell Riders”, $50 for single queen and $60 for double queen. Yes, Tommy and Rick, there is a pool here!!! We also will be going on a tour of the Schell Brewery later that day at 5pm. Total coast of the tour is $60 for the group up to 20 people, after that each person is $3. We will see what our numbers are then figure out how much for each of us.
Monday morning after breakfast we will be northward bound with everyone peeling off as we get close to their roads home.
As with all our rides, please arrive with a full tank of gas at the beginning of the day and bring that rain gear along!!!

Here’s the info on our September 27th Overnighter Ride

There had to be a change in the date due to motel availability (there are two weddings booked there on Saturday, September 27) We now have a block of rooms set aside on Sunday, September 28th (and 29th if you’d like to stay another night) at the AmericInn in Silver Bay, Minnesota (phone number and address are below). Tell them you are with the “Caswell Riders” in order to get our group rate of $109.95, if you have AAA or any other discount group they will take another 10% or so off the group rate. The deadline for reservations will be August 31, 2014.

We will plan to meet in Two Harbors at the Vanilla Bean Café right on Hwy 61 for breakfast at 9am. Then we’ll ride north on Hwy 61 up to Grand Portage taking in all the lovely scenery of the North Shore. There will be opportunities for some great group photo stops along the way. On our southward ride we will stop in Grand Marais for lunch, then continue on to the AmericInn to check into our rooms, settle in then meet down in the poolside hospitality room for pizza and visiting and of course some pool time! There is a 40 foot water slide there and I’ve been told that anyone that goes down 48 times will get their photo taken and displayed proudly alongside all other brave/crazy people who have done that too! I have a feeling there will be a few people in our group that might be up to this challenge!

Monday morning after eating breakfast at the motel (those of us not staying another day) will head back down the North Shore and homeward.

As I mentioned above if any of you would like to make this a two night stay the motel will grant you the same group rate price for both nights, just let them know when you call for your reservations. Also if you don’t want to get up at the crack of dawn on Sunday morning to meet us for breakfast, please by all means head on up to Duluth or Two Harbors on Saturday and stay up there, then you would get a few more hours sleep than the others that are just heading up there from home on Sunday morning!

Like all of our other rides make sure that you arrive in Two Harbors at the Vanilla Bean Café with a full tank of gas so that when we are done with breakfast we will all be ready to ride. This is a rain or shine ride and also it’s the North Shore so be prepared for all types of weather! Looking forward to seeing many of you at this ride.

The deadline for room reservations in coming up on this ride. Just wanted to make sure everyone sees this so that you can get in on the room deal.

I want to clear up any confusion about "where" the ride starts: It starts from your house. We ARE NOT gathering at Caswell's on the ride morning, as it says below if you want to head to Duluth/Two Harbors area on Saturday so that you don't have to get up super early to meet us go for it, if not, we will be eating breakfast at the Vanilla Bean in Two Harbors and leaving from there. See the info below for all the detail.
