I am not sure which bags (from other years) fit the '13 but looking for bags. Color is not important. I should have bought the Spyder with bags. My mistake! :banghead:

I'm not sure if you mean hardsided bags or softsided bags. I took the hardsided bags from my 2009 rs se5 and mounted them on my 2013 rs sm5 no problem BTW I have the BRP fitment racks. The color panel for the hard bags is needed to keep the inside of the bags dry as there are mounting screws that hold the panels on and without the panels there holes into the bags.

Honesty I wouldn't mind either but prefer the hard bags. I can fit Givi's on but Givi isn't making the mounting kit for it yet. Argh! I keeping meaning to call them to complain LOL

i just recently discovered at work (i work at a dealership) that BRP finally makes the Mounting Kit for the '13. Need to get the part number and order it. At least I will have that!

Where did you get your mounting kit from since I don't think the '09 fits the '13?

The BRP hardsided saddlebags fitment rack and the BRP R-35 saddlebags (same as the V-35 Givi saddlebags) for the 2009 GS/RS fit the 2013 RS SM5 perfectly no problems. I do not know if the Givi PLX770 frame for the bags will fit the 2013 but looking at the instructions I can see no reason it would not work.

I used the rack from my 2009 rs.

Rats now you made me think. What I really did was put the rack and bags on the 2009 myself and then traded the 2009 in for the 2013 and told the dealer to take my bags from the 2009 and put them on the 2013 and they did. I don't really know what hardware they used but they didn't charge me any extra for a different rack or parts so I figured they just swaped them. It took them about 2 hrs to take them off and put them on so that doesn't leave much time to experment with the rack. This was in Nov 2013 so I don't think there were any special parts available yet.

Ok I took the time to go and have a good look at my saddlebag fitment rack and they did use the rack from my 2009. They may have added some kind of spacers or such but the rack for the 2009 will fit the 2013 rs sm5.
