I have sent a couple of notes to Wiredux but he hasn't responded as yet and maybe someone else may be able to answer my question.

I downloaded the new dealer list that he put together in gpx format and then dragged it to my Garmin. I didn't know where to put the data so I just put it in the gpx folder. The new list ended up sprinkled throughout my Favorites folder.

The old dealer list is still there. Anyone know how to get the new stuff to replace the old?

I had to manually go in and delete. I googled how to do it and that's the best I found. The only other way is to do a complete delete which is quicker; but, then you lose the favorites other than dealers.

Not sure I understand your response. You can't manually delete the Spyder Dealer list.

The Spyder dealer list comes up on the Garmin 660 that is installed on the Limited on a screen with Address; Recently Found, Favorites, Points of Interest; Spyder Dealers and Go Home. If you select Favorites there is an edit function that allows you to delete but if you select Spyder Dealers there is no edit function displayed.

I want to update the Spyder Dealers list with the new file. That is what I am stuck on. How do you get the new file from Wiredux to replace the old one?

Not sure if this works on your garmin; but I did what is mentioned in the 2nd post here:

Perhaps make a specific folder and drag and drop?

No this does not appear to be applicable to the Garmin 660 that comes on the Spyder Limited.

But thanks anyway.

Chris:

I didn't know I could originate folders for the Zumo 660. I will plug it back in to the computer and see if there is a way to do that.

Hell, I act like I know what I'm talking about. However, I do recall that you can make a folder within the Garmin app.

Been very busy. I don't have a 660 so how you replace it I am not sure. I should have my 660 in a few weeks though do I'll be able to set up some directions.

The official way to load a .gpx or .csv Points Of Interest (POI) onto a Garmin GPS is to use the Garmin loader program.
Here is a link to Garmin support explaining how to do it.
https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId=%7B16d895d0-2fe6-11de-76c5-000000000000%7D

Link for windows version of POI Loader: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=927

Link for mac version of POI Loader: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=3697

Using this procedure will never update the existing dealer list that comes with the Garmin from BRP. The updated list will appear under "Where to?", "Extras", "Custom POI's" If you wish to delete the outdated version of the dealer list from BRP, the file is oempoi.gpi located in the POI folder. It will delete the menu icon as well. I have been playing around with creating a new dealer list file that is a direct replacement for the BRP file, new menu icon and all. It appears to work great on my 660 and will likely work on most Garmin models. (no way to test) In a couple days I will pass it along to Wiredux who has graciously offered host it on his site.

Thank you for the response. I will look for it later in the month so I can update both mine and my wife's GPS units. Will this be an entirely new GPX file that I can load to the Garmin through my Mac or just the header for the existing file that Wiredux has already provided?

Appreciate the good work.
