Today is day 3 of the ladies trip. Yesterday we left Scottsdale in bright sunshine and 48 degrees. Since I'm the only one with a 2014 we had to stop for gas every 75 miles as there are limited places to get gas. My gas mileage ranged from a high of 37 to a low of 22 due to riding 65 with no wind to interstate speeds with a 40 mph head wind.

The dealer in Las Cruces had a nice spread if food waiting for us and they offered 15% discount on merchandise. We had a nice dinner at a Mexican restaurant and when I got out to the parking lot I found that some jerk had backed into my Spyder breaking off half if the mudflap

Today we are in for a cold ride 30 degrees through the mountains.

After we had Robins fender fix we headed to White Sands to meet up with the others.i skipped the visitor center as they were ready to ride thru the park. At the fee booth one of the girls in a 2010 RT had problems and was getting P1614. She had a check engine light the night before but said she didn't have any codes. Turns out she didn't know how to pull them up. The bike made an awful noise and would stall when she put it in first.

we decided she needed to go to the dealer so Robin and I rode back with her. About halfway back to Las Cruces it let out a puff of something, smelled bad, so she parked it. She had a nephew in Las Cruces come out with a trailer and he took it to the dealer. They said it was just an update needed on BUDS but I don't understand why it was making the noises.

She he rode as far as Alamogordo last night and is meeting us in Carlsbad today. Hopefully we will get FlamingoBabe fixed up too so we all can ride

The 2014 ran perfectly.

Ann, you're making me itch for the desert southwest. I was stationed in Alamogordo for 6 years. Spent many a Saturday at the Sands. Weekends in Ruidoso, horseback riding in Cloudcroft, skiing Sierra Blanca. My ex is from Ruidoso. I love that area. Safe trip through the mountains. Sure hope the rest of the trip is uneventful.

this will be a trip that will be talked about for a long time with great memories. trips with no problems are boring, overcome the problems and it becomes the trip that sticks in your mind. that said I think you all have had enough problems for now. hope the rest of the trip is trouble free.
