Last week my 9 y.o. daughter brought me her iPod 4 saying it wouldn't charge. It appeared something had been crammed in the charge port and bent/broke several pins. Called the local repair shop and they wanted $125 to fix it. Figured I could buy a used one for that, so after watching a few YouTube videos I decided to try fixing it myself.
