So I go outside to start the bike and it wouldn't. Acted like there was no fuel. Push the M/S and turn signal and see the P 1614. No error message on the display BTW. Pulled the key, walk inside, checked google "P1614 error message can am spyder" and discover it was a throttle body issue. Crap!

Go back outside and she started up without a hiccup. Was this just a brain fart or is this a sign of things to come? 2010 RT

my 2010 RT has thrown that code about 4 times.

I think BRP has a zero tolerance for that saying it means replace the TB but I haven't and hope not to.

I hear ya Rog. I just read another explanation: "throttle idle position failure on throttle release" whatever the heck that means.

 Your bike will probably act normal for a while...
And it'll be back; and will keep returning more frequently... :banghead:

Call your dealer, and let them know what is doing on...
Note each day and time that it happens. Jot down the error codes that pop up. There may even be a few more that join in as time goes by.
When it gets to the point where you've about had enough of it; you'll need to replace the throttle body system. :gaah:

Had the same issue on my 2010 RT in August of 2013..turned out it was the throttle body. Took it into the shop and BRP paid for the new one including the labor..It did not cost me a cent and been running great ever since

The 2010 RT's throttle by wire system, was new for them...
It was revised a couple of times, and now seems to work pretty well.
But the 2010s were another story...

And the 2011's (I had two TB, a buddy only one) and even into 2012 (a friend had one TB) all replaced by BRP but these were still under warranty. I would expect BRP would warrant the 2010 as it clearly was a fault.

My 2010 has had 2 changed and can tell you that sooner or later it will be back. Get it changed while you can.

Bruisersbaby has the start issue after a long run on her 2010 RT. Especially in the hot weather. The dealer said her TB was updated at the factory.

So is BRP still replacing the 2010 RT throttle bodies, since they know that it was faulty? I just started having problems with mine... 2010 RT-S with 7,500 miles.

Mine started doing it on the way to 2011 Spyderfest. A month later BRP paid for a new TB at the dealer. That was with 11,000 miles on it. Now three years later it starts goofing again. Just in time to trade up to the 2014. Hows that for timing? Of course on the way into the dealer to pick up the new one it runs perfect. I almost teared up when I left it behind and took the new one home.
