I love my RT. I've put almost 9000 miles on it since I bought it last fall. I've already registered for SpyderFest 2014. I've said all this so you know what I'm going to see doesn't come easy for me.....I really miss my two wheeler. I don't need two touring cycles. I just need to get my two wheeler fix once and while. So I've been searching for that fix and this week I bought it.

I like the Bonneville's retro style and the bullet proof power plant. This will be my "run around town" cycle.

Don't ban me, and don't hit the ignore button on my profile. I will always be a HUGE spyder fan.

I don't think you will find any dissent here. The Bonne was one of the first "big" bikes that gave me a thrill way back in 1965. They were fast, mean, and very cool. Enjoy your two wheels. Were it not for my back and hip issues, I would also have two wheels. Last year it was the F6B, this year it would have been an Indian. Choices, choices. :roflblack:

Somehow I knew you would be the first to respond, Bob and in some small way I'm glad it was you and that you'd understand. See you at SpyderFest '14

I've never seen Spyder Ryders slight those who ride two wheels. The attitude isn't always reciprocal, though...

Several times I've almost bought a Bonnie for my second bike. They are such a classic and so beautiful.

congratulations! The Bonnie is one of those bikes that just feels 'right' when I sit on it. Quite a looker too. Enjoy.

As my husband likes to say "motorcycles are not like wives - you can have more than one at a time!" Congratulations on the new bike.

In the wind is in the wind . . . I suspect there are quite a few of us who would still be riding two wheels, if we could . . . and that is a sweet looking ride!

Good for you!!!

I also have a Bonnie, 09 Black with yellow side covers and cam cover and a bunch of the add on farkles, air box removal and pods added, progressive rear shocks and front springs, Gaiters, BC Sleeper Peashooter exhaust with Arrow 2 into 2 ECU map. The whole British Customs package really wakes up the machine.
I bought the Spyder for two up riding and still enjoy thrashing the Bonnie solo.

78963KAPike, I am right there with you. Was missing my 2 wheeler so Friday night took delivery of my 2014 Indian Classic Vintage. Man it is a sweet ride. Also kept my 2013 ST Limited. These are not pics of mine but rather the brochure pic and a demo at the Lonestar Rally. Mine is sitting in the garage with 134 miles on it. 100 put on it today, 24 the ride home from dealer and 10 for the dealer to prep and get inspection done.

Please post some additional information after you get a couple thousand miles on it. I REALLY, REALLY, like the new Indians.

That's where I'm at right now, got a two wheeler and the wife has a spyder. As soon as the Spyder is paid off I'm either going for a spyder or a new Indian.:)

I grew up with triumphs, gileras, mv agustas, nsu, they were kings of the era. When I built my wing from parts it had the flat seat flat bars no bags or shields radios etc. 78971 the new ones are really nice. Though I love them the spyder is the one for me. Hope you have a great time on it and stick around with us anyway...

Can't blame you, Bonnies tug hard on the old heart-strings. I still have a '65, and I couldn't stand to be without it.

Same here guys....I actually got out of 2 wheels many years ago when the kids were very young to appease the wife. Since the kids are now older I was able to get her to agree to the spyder. Now that she's been on the spyder quite a bit and really liking it, I'm looking at another two wheeler again...
I really like the vtwin rotax powerplant and have been looking quite a bit at Aprilias, specifically the Aprilia Falco. However, I might end up doing another, newer 1200 VFR.

Nice bike Kraig!!

I figured Scotty would have a Bonnie in his fleet of vintage bikes. I thought about a vintage one, but decide I really just wanted to ride and not tinker. Great picture, Thanks for sharing.

I often miss riding on two wheels and from time to time have looked at both the Bonneville and the Suzuki C-50...just for riding around from time to time. Then I get back on the Spyder and the need for two wheels goes away.

At least for awhile...

Very nice Bonneville. I'm another one that thought I could be happy without a 2-wheeler but decided if I didn't get another 2-wheeler I might get too old to ride one. I bought an '03 BMW F650CS earlier this year and I really enjoy riding it solo. When we are two-up, the Spyder's still the best thing I've ever owned but it's sure fun to ride 2-wheels by myself.

Here is a pic of one of my "other" bikes. It's a 1997 Heritage Springer which I bought new back then. It has 67K miles on it and when I need a 2 wheel fix I jum[ on and go for a spin. Today I plan on a ride but will be on the spyder.

Bob of course this is debateable ( and probably will be :roflblack: ) and these thing are subjective etc....Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut ..IMHO the Norton handled just a TAD better than either one and you can the in Beezer ( BSA ) too...:yikes: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:...........Mike........................ .........................On a totally different note have looked at FACTORYFIVE.COM's project 818...........That is so DOABLE .....and in testing it pulled something like 1.23 G's :gaah:

Smart move! Nothing will test your patience (and resourcefulness) more than a vintage Brit bike. If you want to ride (and don't want to buy a set of Whitworth tools), stick with the modern ones.
