Just checked the host hotel and it is all full. What is everyone's next best suggestion on where to stay? Saw the list but thought I would get recommendations.

The Coach house comes recommended by the Host hotel staff.

The host hotel recommended the Best Western Plus, where I got a reservation. They also said the Econo Lodge. Bot are across the street from the host.

Several of us are staying here. Looks like a nice hotel with a hot breakfast and close to Pitbull. Less than 15 minutes to the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds. I think the SF rates are $74.99 for a double or a King.

We've reserved a room at the Baymont Inn & Suites, just north of the Glenstone Ave/James River Freeway interchange.

We stayed there last year because all the places closer to the host hotel were booked, but we enjoyed it so much that we're staying there again this year by choice.

Last year they honored the Spyderfest group rate, but I didn't bother to inquire this time, since we can now get 20% off the standard rate with our AARP card (the one good thing about turning 50 this year!)

Comfort Inn is honoring SF rates $75 per night for king or double, no credit card required to hold reservation. Be sure to let them know you will be with SF. They were very helpful when I reserved rooms, and said they are looking forward to us being there.

The Comfort Inn didn't want to give me the Spyderfest rate so I change to the Best Western.I guess the desk clerks don't talk to each other?

I think that I'll camp in the cemetery.
It's peaceful, and nobody will be out and about to bother me so early before Halloween... http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/8/8_1_256.gif

Here is an other hotel: Best Western Plus Coach House, 2535 N. Glenstone Ave. Springfield, Mo. 63803-4737 Phone # 1-866-599-6674.

Blueknight911 and I stayed there. The room was nice, it had a tv, refrigerator in there, at that time of the year their was hardly any body there, ( we were the only:spyder2: people there), they had continental breakfast, also they gave us a AAA, or AARP, or Senior discount on the room. Looks like we will be across the Highway at the Microtel. only $44 per night. had to find a place that allowed Pets.

Small rooms but we figure we will parting with others across at the host hotels anyway.

Savings can be put toward Spyderfest updates ;)

I just booked what used to be the Econom Lodge on Battlefield for $65 a night. I told her that I saw that rate on my computer and she said she would honor that price.
