Normally I would never post anything like this but it really hit home with me yesterday. I am member of a gun board and we had a man who posted he was dying. Stage IV Lymphoma cancer. He is only 45 years of age with a wife and young son. He said that he has been told there really isn't much they can do for him.

Now this particular gun board has more fighting on it than the Hatfield's & McCoy's ever did. We can argue about the stupidest things and it can get pretty heated at times. Well in less than 24 hours this board has raised nearly $20k for a complete stranger. Is he a real person in need? Yes, some of the local members went to the hospital to see him and they have posted pics.

The sick man and his family are just overwhelmed at the outpouring of complete strangers from all over the world. I will admit at first I was skeptical but I have followed closely the last 24 hours and have given a donation to him. I am not sure if he will make it but for the first time in a very long time my faith has been restored in mankind.

I am not seeking donations for him here but I did want to share his story. There is some graphic language so if you are offended then read with caution. If I was this sick I am sure I might be the same way.

and here is his original post and the outpouring of the good folks. Again, there is some language that is used on this board so read with caution.

:2thumbs: We've seen that kind of generosity in here on a couple of occassions.
Perhaps just not quite to that level...
