I've got velcro on the back of my phone case and have a velcro strip on the shelf in the rear trunk. Stays put (and dry), can plug it into power and blue tooth it to helmet headset. Also have a pad I made on center of handlebars that I'll stick it to for shorter dry trips.

I bought a cheap case from Amazon and put a strip of velcro on the back of that and another strip in the rear trunk as well. I keep it plugged in all the time (I actually use an iPod rather than an iPhone since it has about 160GB of music on it and I can't fit that much on an iPhone). I have several different playlists depending upon mood and rarely ever remove it from the bike. When I do, I can easily just grab it out of the case and then slip it back in.

The whole thing (including velcro) cost me about $7.00.
