I made them out of car speaker covers with some left over mesh hot glued to the back of them , then fixed them on using stainless steel screws .

Before I read your description I thought they look like speaker grills on a rolling boom box. If you like them, it's all that matters.

I think I do , they went through a few alterations to get to what they look like now , they don't actually look that obvious in real life , I took the photo lying on the ground looking up , I just thought the large expanse of plastic needed something to break it up a bit , I might still end up going for the chrome grill on sale from your side of the pond or put some lights behind them .

I have a question (Maybe several...)
Are the grilles functional?
If so; have you been able to determine how it has changed the airflow underneath the bodywork?
If they are NOT functional; do you foresee any possibility of attempting to make them so?

I admire your creativity!

Looks good, but I expect cleaning bug guts out of them might be a challenge.

A great and interesting idea. As lazy as I am, would guess cleaning to be an issue for me. :roflblack:

They are for decoration at the moment Bob but I might turn them into air ducts or illuminate them maybe at a later date , winter project ?
I thought about the bug splat issue , I have a stiff nylon type , non scratch brush that sorts the little bleeders out :2thumbs:

Cool look... and if they don't like your grill then they can try our RS, ST RSS, GR chrome air dam grills.

Thanks Mike!
I know with all of the heat problems that have been reported; this would seem like a potentially viable method to increase the airflow...
