The handlebars and this center piece are production products not prototypes.
They were purchased from Kewlmetal the same people who made the mirror extensions.

I have dealt with Matt and Joe both of them good people do everything they say and the quality
of their product is top notch.

Installation is similar to putting on the 1 inch riser from BRP the difference basically is you have
to remove everything on the bar. As far as difficulty it wasn't that really hard but I ran into a
little trouble with the ignition switch cover.

Now when you get started you need remove all your front panels , center cover, instrument cluster,
so you can have enough room to cut the tie strips to get that extra wire that you're going to have
to have. I also removed the plastic air intake but it really wasn't necessary and it can be a bear
to remove if you haven't done it before.

Now the switch covers on both sides of the bar I only loosened and slid them off the BRP bar
without splitting them into. I did this just to make it a little easier and sometimes you take
these things apart little things like tiny ball bearings and Springs can magically disappear. Now
when you put the new bar on you have to slide it on the bar first before you set it there's not
enough wire or cable length to slide it on afterwards unless you split them in half.

When you remove the BRP cover you have to remove the ignition switch from the cover. You have to
loosen it from the cover then push it forward as far as you can through the cover holding the ignition
switch in your right hand then push in turn the ignition switch cover counterclockwise with your left
hand and it pops off. There is a little notch cut into the plastic you cannot see it and I am thankful
I had the shop manual. Installing it on the new piece is everything in reverse just don't put it
upside down like I did first.

The new bar and center cover parts go on easier than taking off the original BRP parts and the best
part about this new cover is not just the attachments you can get for it but now you can use anybody's
bars unlimited adjustment and possibilities.

The one that was sent to me was a 5 inch rise and it fit me like a glove no more hunched over neck
muscles burning after a couple hours of riding. Now as far as wire and controlling lengths I had enough
to do the 5 inches for but it's going to be a stretch for seven. I'm not saying it can't be done but it looks
like you're going to have to reroute some wiring if you plan to use what's there.

Overall I'm very well pleased with this product there is a lot of room for customizing the center cover
to whatever you like he even has some spiderweb inlays that will go in the cover if that's what you like.
I did this for the comfort of the ride some people have no problem with the way it was originally set up
but I did and have been waiting for somebody to come up with a better alternative and I give this
two thumbs up. :2thumbs:

Was there a locater hole in the bars for the controls?

By the way the rise is something that is very open to interpretation. When I told Matt about my risers he said you can go as much as 7". When I did mine I found that a 3" rise from stock, that is if you pull a tape from where the bar sits now to where it sits after the riser install the bar is now 3" center to center is all I could go and have enough slack in my cables so that they don't bind lock to lock. So it would be cool to get both of our Spyders side by side and see where they both come out at.

This is just a guess, to me personally I find it to be a PIA to have to upload a picture somewhere else and then put it on the post.....other forums have an attach photo option, this is my ONLY complaint about this particular forum......they all have their pros and cons I suppose.

May be you should start your own forum set it up just the way you like and save us having to see your negetive responses
