Just went for my first ride after having Ron's Sway bar installed on my RT. Wow!!! What a difference it has made. Couldn't believe it could change up the corning so much. I'm a believer. It has enhanced the fun to a new level. Even the wife on the back commented on the difference it made in the ride for her as well. If you don't have one, get one!!!

Hey Geezer were you in Las Vegas on Sunday? There was a Spyder with Utah plates at our protest at Red Rock and I wondered if it was you?

I'm just a little leery because most responses I see on the bar are those w/ the heavier RT's, which would make sense.

Maybe I'm just missing the responses from RS and ST owners? I do still plan on getting one though...

Thanks for the info...May I ask where you purchased the swaybar and how involved was the installation? Does this replace an existing part or ????

Thanks!

Hi Rick
Which year and model machine do you have?
(Some of that info is needed to answer your question...)
Contact BajaRon directly to buy the bar...
Pre-2013 bikes are REALLY easy!
get them up in the air high enough to give yourself some elbow room, remove the front skidplate, and get to it!
The newer bikes; you need to get them about 18" to 20" up in the air in order to remove and re-install the bars...

Thanks, Bob. I have a 2013 RT Limited.

I will contact BajaRon (I am guessing he has a website...!)

Thanks much!
Rick

It was probably one of my buddies from St. George. We have a group of about 10 of us that meet once a month. A few of them are pretty active in being an activeness and don't mind voicing their opinion and expressing their displeasure with our government.

Comparing the amount of body roll pre and post - I looked down and noted both during turns on city streets how much the body rolled to the outside. About five degrees pre-BajaRon, zero roll after install. Now these were pretty benign turns, but overall the ST sure feels like it corners flatter. I'm happy with the mod:clap:

I replaced the factory skid plate with the bump-skid. I've been wondering if I can still install the sway bar or are they mutually exclusive? Does anyone know?

Hi Rick,
The installation process is similar; yet different between your two bikes...
Ron can probably email you the installation instructions for them...

You'd have to ask Ron about that...

The RT And the ST end up with about the same amount of improvement (though the ST is lighter and takes a lighter sway bar). The 2013 RS also sees a lot of improvement, the RSS slightly less improvement because it comes stock with a slightly stiffer bar than either the RS or the ST.

The pre-2012 RT sees a great deal of improvement as well.

The lions share of sales have been in the RT line (both pre and post 2013 models). Probably because these have been the biggest sellers. But I have sold plenty of RS and ST bars and feedback has been just as positive.

My custom sway bar does replace the OEM sway bar. They appear to be nearly identical and I've gotten a fair amount of skepticism from some about any possible improvement from something that looks virtually the same. But there is more to it than size of the bar. The design of the sway bar retention system does not allow for much increase in size so we had to make additional changes to get the stiffness required.

The procedure for install is quite different depending on the year model. The 2013's were completely redesigned.

There is not conflict between any aftermarket mod and my custom sway bar. Anything that will work with the stock sway bar will also work with my sway bar.

Any available for the 2014s?

The 2014's are identical to the 2013's as far as the sway bar goes. I will be looking for 2014 RT TEST PILOTS to see if the current 2013 RT sway bar is sufficient. I suspect it will be.

Stay tuned.... :ohyea:

Now, now boys and girls! There will be plenty of bars to go around. :lecturef_smilie:

It takes a bit more than owning a 2014 RT to get the 'Test Pilot' nod. Let's wait until you have one of these rare birds in your hot little hands, then put some miles on it so you have some saddle time reference when you install my bar.

Real world feedback from an owner with previous stick time is essential!

When I put my two bars side by side your bar was clearly larger in diameter. However stiffness is the key! Worthwhile investment for sure!

 I thought that "Stiffness" and "diameter" could only be discussed in the WAY off-topic area... :yikes: :D

I just called my salesman today and they still dont know when their 2014 models will be here. I do have a new RT held for me as soon as they arrive. I will have the bar installed the same day I get it home. I cant imagine riding without it installed.

Question: How much difference did the Bar make on your 2013 RT?
(Figuring that the 2014s are a lot heavier; the improvement should be even more pronounced...)

Just got my swaybar last week, can't wait to get it installed and weather warms up to try it out.
Is there pic's or video's of the install of the bar for a 2013 RT-S? Not sure where the white blocks go just yet
as macine is still in storage so I can not check it out under there.
Thanks in advance
