Just got a call from the dealer that my bike was ready after the recall work was done and the 600 mile service. The total was $464  wow... that is almost $1 per mile. Is that right??

IMO: A little high. Most post about $300 for the service. Cost of maintainance on the :spyder2: is up there in the stratosphere. A good idea to discuss work and pricing in advance so that you are aware of what the bill is going to be.

A valve check service is $800 plus whatever else you do. :(

Non-warranty repairs can also send you reeling. How about $250 for the cruise control switch? Then, add labor.

Just got mine done and it was $235.00 out the door. They even gave me a copy of my BUDS report. Middletown Cycle did the service.

my cost was $0. Purchased maintenance plan with dealership. I haven't paid a cent for any maintenance work done. Something to think about for future.

Total was $373.98 and broke down like this:
1 cooper washer $ 0.79
1 o-ring $ 1.99
1 oil filter $ 15.49
2 spark plugs $ 6.50
4.5 qts 10/40w $ 51.71

Labor $297.50 so change the going prices accordingly....hope you make out better. I do all my own work after the first service. They sold it to me and saw it after the first 600 miles I'm covered.

I'm having my first check up friday, my dealer says it takes a min of 2 hours and they charge $75 an hour!:banghead: Ouch! I'm in the wrong business! Not to mention I'm getting 4 inch handle bar risers and 12 v adapter installed on the same day. It's gonna be pricey that's for sure!

I am with ya Chupa!
I plan to do my own oil changes, etc. I am half way to my next oil change now.
About time to order the kit from Baja Ron (and probably a sway bar to go with it).

Did mine all by myself with castrol 4t oil and genuine filters it was almost 80.00. If I were to change the oil I probably would charge 50.00 maybe. Don't know for sure yet. Its kinda a pain to do.

Sent from my Galaxy S3. I may have made a spelling error or may have some grammer issues. My fingers are way to big to type on this tiny screen!

Is there a specific list of what is done at the 600 mile service?

I know they probably don't do every thing, but are there important factors that "should" be addressed after break in?

I know oil and filter(s), but what else?

Your signature says you have a 2013 which does not use the same style handlebars as 2012 and earlier models so how are they going to install these risers? I've been looking at an option to raise the handle bars since I bought the machine and the only way to do so on the 2013 is to change them out to the ST or RT handlebars. Two members have changed their RS bar out to either ST or RT bars and they work very well. Anyway I'm very interested to see which risers they are going to install and how they install them. The bars swap only cost $200 and looks very factory since they are factory bars. No cutting and adding those strange looking risers, just factory finished bars! Look at this thread and you will see both the ST and RT bars on a RS.

$440 and the dealer had it for 2 1/2 days. Never did call me and tell me it was completed. I finally just drove over and found it out in the yard myself.

This kinda blows...Guess I'll have to contact custom dynamics and see if this is true...i've looked on their website (i think i ordered them off amazon.com) and yup, all they say is they fit 08-12...UGGGGGHHHH!!!! Thanks for the heads up!

I have a 2013 RT-S. My total cost for the 600 mile service came to $278.49. Incidentally, I did purchase an RPM One maintenance package from my dealer which covers 6 services (paid $1369). That along with a 3 year extended B.E.S.T. warranty ($759) should put me in good shape for 5 years (I hope)! My 600 mile service did include the B.U.D.S. Service Report, too. Also wound up getting some BRP's new stiffer springs and the "recalled" heim joints. I'm in Arizona.
