to say the least..will probably see a lot of prices in the coming months. Once the 14's come in and Joe public does their thing we will see deals and sales fluctuating all around. :yikes:

I'll keep my 2012 RT SE 5. I'll wait for the 2016 RT SE 6 1600 model(wish)

Very good buys out there for those wanting to buy new. The bad side, is that trade in values--if you have em--are also going to be correspondingly lower. Wise shoppers should be able to hit the jackpot on a new prior year. I am also guessing you will pay close to MSRP on a new 2014.

I heard talk around the shop when I was getting my "heat recall" completed that BRP has a rep of letting the public do a lot of their testing. Boy, do I feel like a schmuck! BRP issues a safety bulletin, dealers try to dump 'em, and I just watch the value of my purchase plummet. Something just doesn't feel quite right! I love where the 2014 technology is headed, but my confidence in BRP is sure not what it used to be! :(

Yea I am in the same boat. Man my bike I like but really going to take a beating if I trade for a 2014 that really sort addresses the problems with the 2013 had. BRP not showing any mercy what so ever. might have to think about that new RTG I looked at. Red TriGlide. Trade while I still have half value left. DON

Now that I think about it. I bought my 2013, without the rebate back in may for the same price as the 2012 with a 2000.00 rebate. The MSRP i thought was about the same. Maybe not. Of course now you can buy the 2011 -2013 models with a 3000.00 rebate and a 2 year best extended warranty thrown in on the yellow tag promotion. Quite a turn.

BRP incentives sent out to dealers to "clean up inventory"... HOWEVER: Dealers can lower the prices on 2012 and below at closeout prices WITHOUT having to mark with a sticker, just ask the salesman.:doorag:

Sales technique:

Customer (C): "Wow!! The 2013's have REALLY gotten down in price!"
Salesman (S): "Yes, the 2014 are coming out really soon so we need to clean out the previous years at these authorized rebates"
C: "What about those over there (pointing at the 2012), they not on sale?"
S: "They are leftover from 2012. They are not marked, but I can make you a MUCH better deal than the 2013's..."

Hook, line, and sinker!

I never saw my purchase of my Spyder as an investment. Its a toy I bought to have fun with. If I wanted to invest, I'd have left the money in my IRA.

When a person does decide to bite the bullet and make a purchase, its important to quit shopping and be happy with your purchase. There are so many offers, deals, discounts, etc. around that I guarantee you will always find a lower price or a better offer. That takes some of the joy out of the purchase. If you deal was good enough to make you sign on the dotted line, you should be happy at that point.

I spoke to my local Can Am dealer (1/2 hour from my home) (They never got the license to sell Spyders although they want to. They were told that BRP did not want dealerships to close to each other) asking if they could work on my Spyders (2011 & 2012 RT Limiteds) to save me a 2 hour drive to have warranty work done. Although they can work on them they can not do warranty work. In the course of our conversation I told them about Spyderlover.com and some of the issues covering alot of the different Spyder models and how some of the problems were directly attributed to improper dealer set ups. They said that it was fairly common for them to sell brand new BRP sleds and not have the assembly or maintenance manual sent from BRP 9 to 12 months after they were out on the trails. Thus frustrating their mechanics who would like to have them to study before setting up their first assemblies. I wonder if our beloved Spyders suffer from this same level of incompetence/ lack of foreknowledge that the dealers have to deal with thus creating some assembly issues because the manuals are not sent to help them out. Just Asking!!

Exactly! and :roflblack: @ the IRA comment (since I took money out of mine for the down payment of my 2013 RT-S)

Talking to my local dealers sales manager and he told me that they sold their 2013 yellow ST-S demo for under $16,000 just to move it out.
He also stated that they will purchase very few 2014 RS and ST's because they feel that most buyers will wait for 2015's in the hope of getting the new 3 cylinder motor.

I think that is a smart move.
