Same as cars. A Demo has never been titled so technically it is new. This price depresses me.

:agree: You are going to be very frustrated on anytime you see rebates on older models and such. Just enjoy the rides and forget about the deal.

Count on something newer and better coming along (or being announced) every 8-10 months.

If you're trying to stay one step ahead and get the latest, you'll never have anything.

The "don't look back" is a very good recommendation. Most people are happy with the price when they sign on the dotted line. There is always a better price or a better deal to be found. Once I buy a big ticket item, I do quit shopping--because the deed is done.

Large discounts on 2013's are pretty much a given at this point.

I did have a feeling the 2013's were going to present some interesting situations because of the issues we have been discussing for months. Now, with the new 2014's coming out, it opens more issues than normal.

We will get through this eventually. Many references to value of trade ins, etc. have been mentioned in a few other active threads.

Besides... It's not what you've got in it that matters; it's what you get OUT of it that's important!

:agree: Joe; You and I must have gone to different High Schools together or something...
How'd you get all of the good looks in the family?? :D

You have to put a value on the amount of time you have had the use of your Spyder. How much was having it to ride all summer worth to you? I know for me it is worth a ton, especially since I haven't had one to ride since August 7th.

This is what kills the prices for the used market. When someone puts up their 2011 RT LTD for 21,000....someone will say "I can buy a 2013 new for 20,000." :banghead:

It's a demo. We all know how a demo is treated. No break in, flogged right out if the crate.

Roger, as usual you are right on. I was joking with a friend who is an auto salesman at the dealer where we buy our vehicles. I asked him what our 2014 Impala would get on a trade in for a 2014 Silverado. The loss was remarkable.

I just bought the wife a new loaded 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan last month. It is identical to the 2014 they had but cost $3,000 less because it is technically a year old. That is why I when I decided to go to a 14RT I did it as fast as the I could knowing damn well that the resale price of 2013 and older would drop like a rock.

It is going to get worse since the dealers are now getting flooded with used RT models that they have overpriced due to the steadily falling resale values. My dealer is a great guy and has a lot of 14's in inventory, another dealer down road is pushing his 2013's hard but still wants about the same price as he had them on before the 14's came out. They only have one 14 on the floor and it is tucked way back and over priced.

If it was a true demo, then the in-service date reverts back to when they put it in demo service...Which means the warranty started on that day, instead of when it was sold to you..At Chrysler,Dodge,Jeep...A car has to be put in demo service once it reaches 500 miles..Don't know about Can Am..Always check on the in service date!

I bought my Victory 2012 with 2000 demo miles drove it to 30,000 with no problems till ice and a brick wall took my baby home. On the cost factor I love to buy my cloths at Herbergers for 70 percent off! But there are thing I will pay the full price the spyder is my new bike as a farmer for 25 years we never got away for much vacation. But now we have a mode of transportation that I don't have to worry about dropping on uneven pavement or my worn out knees getting tired from standing on the interstate for 2 hours in salt lake City moving at 13 feet increments. We noticed a couple years ago when we took our first 2 week vacation we really needed it and vow to get away more. Working 2 jobs you need to get away, it's hard to put a value on that if it saves your relationship or empowers to do more together . What that worth. I was in San Diego the 14 - 19 of this month. On the pacific beach it was worth the trip something about walking by that roaring ocean. Went to a can am dealer talk about the rt after we had already agree to get the rt at a local dealer for a price. He gave us low price He said I could get the money back for my dealer. I said no because there was value in having a local dealer. What's that worth. There are some things in life you just have to bite the bullet and put down the bread on. Then buy your cloths some where else for 70 percent off, but 80 is better.;)

I paid $19,500 plus tax on my late 2013. (red RTS SE5) plus an extra two years warranty. I bought in October. I am very happy with it and have no intensions of trading or selling.
