after purchase to pay for scheduled maintenance at the BRP recommended intervals when comparing say a 14' to a 13' or 12'. I am not complaining about our 13', but it does add up if you ride a fair amount. I would like to see a service schedule and costs over 18,000-24,000 miles. The 14' oil change interval alone will save a few hundred.....

I think a savings of $1200 in maintenance costs over two years is reasonable. However, besides mileage there is usually a time interval too between oil changes and other maintenance.

I think the savings will be considerable and even with the small increase in the purchase price the cost of ownership over a few years time will still be lower than it was on the earlier models.

Figure the following as ball park costs.

Oil changes w/ filter and general checkover $300
Valve adjustments recommended now at 14000 miles $800
Tires: Fronts about every 15--20K miles $150 plus labor
Tires: Rear: About every 10--15K miles $180 plus labor

I think the new RT maintenance specs will be a bargain for high mileage riders. Low mileage riders will see their dealer for maintainence about once a year.
