Hello all! Just bought my first ever Spyder, 2013 RTS, a week ago. Very awesome ride! I've been "lurking" around this forum for the past couple of days trying to soak in all of the valuable information here. This is a great forum!

I am a bit disappointed, however, that when i got home on the day I got my Spyder, BRP issued a recall in Canada, with the US to follow a few days later. I called my dealership about the recall the day BRP officially announced in the US. They stated that it was only in Canada. They must not have gotten the info from BRP yet.

Anyway, until I get my official letter from BRP, I am planning to cautiously enjoy this fine vehicle! Thanks spyderlovers! Ride safe!

Hey, welcome aboard from another newbie to the forum. Only officially been here for a couple of weeks even though I've had my Spyder for about a year now. A 2012 RT-S SM5. Love this forum!!! If you need any help, there are people here that can provide the info you need. Enjoy (both your Spyder and the forum)...

I think that would vary by state. But most likely if the dealer had registered and licensed the Spyder it would be then be sold as used. You'd have to inquire at your dealer. New 2013s are pretty heavily discounted right now so without actually talking to a dealer we would just be guessing as to whether or not it would be a better deal.

Based on what your dealer said, they are either stupid or cagey in reference to the recall.

I'm going to call the dealership on Monday to see what's going on. I hope they won't give me the run-around, but if they do, I'm calling BRP.
