LIKE TWISTIES? THIS RYDE'S GOT 'EM!

Join us for this twisty ryde through Angeles and San Bernardino National Forests. If you have never ridden the routes planned for this ryde, you'll be glad you joined us for this trip. These routes are beautiful "must ride" Southern California motorcycle mountain roads all built into one trip. This ryde is also designed for anyone who wants to make it a half-day ride, a whole-day ride, or even an over-night ryde with 4 "legs" to the ride for you to jump in our out. Perfectly located for LA and Inland Empire Ryders to join at at least one of the meet-up points, we'll be ryding Hwys 2, 138, 18, & 38 from La Cañada to Wrightwood, Arrowhead, Big Bear, and into Redlands - over 200 miles of planned ryding - without a single freeway!

LEG 1 • La Cañada to Phelan along Hwy 2 through Angeles National Forest through Wrightwood.

LEG 2 • Phelan to Big Bear Lake along Hwys 138 and 18 (Rim of the World Hwy) with a lunch stop at Lake Arrowhead at Papagayos (TBD).

LEG 3 • Overnight at Big Bear Lake, dinner at B's Backyard Barbecue right on the lake, and an around-the-lake evening ride to end the day.

LEG 4 • Breakfast location TBD. The planned route for those heading back into the "ocean" side of the mountain is Hwy 38 into Redlands.

• Shell Gas Station (4530 Angeles Crest Highway, La Cañada Flintridge, CA)
• Arrive 8:30 am (Leave by 9:00 am)
• Gas n' Coffee. We're meeting at a Shell Station and there is a Panera Bread right across the street.
• Bring snacks, it's a bit of a long & twisty haul until lunch.
• Hwy. 2 into Angeles National Forest is a winding mountain road that will take us through the city of Wrightwood and is approximately 73 miles (about 2 hours driving time according to Google Maps) to Phelan.

LEG 2: Meet-Up Point #2 ... 63 Miles
• Chevron Wagon Train Gas Station (3260 Wagon Train Rd., Phelan, CA) This is where HWY 138 meets I-15; McDonalds is next to the Chevron station.
• Arrive approx. 11:45 pm (Leave by 12:15 pm)
• Gas n' Snacks - don't eat too much here, lunch is only 28 miles near!
• Continue east about 28 miles on Hwy 138 which will take us by Lake Silverwood, Lake Gregory, and into Lake Arrowhead for lunch.
*****
• 1:00 pm: LUNCH at Papagayo's (28200 Hwy 189, Bldg. P-100, Lake Arrowhead, CA)
*****
• Ryde to Sugarloaf (other side of Big Bear) via Hwy 18 (a "rim of the world" scenic mountain highway road) and Hwy 38 (a scenic mountain road around the backside of Big Bear Lake.

LEG 3: Evening Ryde ... 25 Mile Loop
• Dinner is planned for B's Backyard Barbecue, followed by a relaxing around-the-lake evening ryde. This is an easy 25 mile loop.
• I don't have any specific lodging reserved, but I do recommend checking out The Grey Squirrel (http://greysquirrel.com/resort-cabins (http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgreysquirrel.com%2Fresort-cabins&h=JAQFwOy4D&s=1)). Charming resort "cottages" all on a single picturesque property that give you a clean cabin-feeling overnight stay at hotel prices. I am not sure of their availability but this is a great option for a true Big Bear stay. It is also conveniently located to the city of Big Bear downtown. Please chat post accommodations you find.

LEG 4: The Ryde Home ... 48 miles from Big Bear to Redlands via Hwy 38
• Breakfast: TBD
• The ryde home from Big Bear Lake to wherever your destination may be. Planned group route for those heading back together on the "ocean" side of the mountain is Hwy 38 into Redlands. Los Angeles is 63 miles after that.
