I have 08 rs, my rear fender support cracked all the way through at the bend on left side.
The right side is cracked almost through. Extended warranty just ran out. Anybody ever hear anything
like this? Need input.

Happens quite a bit. I removed the rear fender after the Chicago trip in 2010. Had to duct tape it back on all the way home to California.

I had mine crack at 19,200 miles in November of 2008. I posted pictures then. Mnay other have had the problem. I think a lot of it is vibration of the rear fender. :doorag:

The 2013's have a extra gusset type bracket under the main support to stop the vibration.

have seen several posts on this subjects. Varies with where you do most of your ryding. Rougher roads tend to cause this problem sooner. The new models have a reinforcement so if you have them welded back up have the extra support added..!!

Also they say the new ones for the 2008 are reinforced also - it's a updated part # - I did take them off give them to dealership and install them myself - dealer still get parts credit -

When removing soak the nuts the day before - mine where a little seized - it does take quite a bit of time to do the job.

Send pictures of the problem to BRP and they will (hopefully) remedy the situation for you (even out of warranty). VERY common problem due to vibration on the RS/GS.

Thanks all, for all the input. My dealer ordered the parts and going to check with BRP for any consideration.
I'll keep you informed.
