Help 2012 rss se5 stuck in first gear

anyone ever had this problem before..the bike has just over 1000 miles.

starter will not engage in gear unless you step on the brake while you hit the start button .

If stepping on the brake will not return it to neutral when starting, there is a procedure to do it manually. The procedure is in your manual. While you are down there, look at the linkage, it may have come loose on the splines when the bolt on the lever backed out.
