In my state that will get you a ticket. No blue lights. My son had underglow multi colored lights on his car and got one when he was running blue. Blue is for Police only around here.

I did install led strip on the mirrors connected to the blinkers. The blue strips on the fenders are tied into the fender running lights.

Did you have to add load resistor to the signal light to keep the blinking frequency as before?

No resistors, just tapped into the signal wires on the mirror. Seems to be the same frequency to me.
