Found this on line:

IF GH can stand for P as in 'hiccough'

IF OUGH can stand for O as in 'dough'

IF PHTH can stand for T as in 'phthisis'

IF EIGH can stand for A as in 'neighbor'

IF TTE can stand for T as in 'gazette'

IF EAU can stand for O as in 'plateau'

Then the correct way to spell POTATO is, GHOUGHPHTHEIGHTTEEAU!

Now, if someone could make a computer program change our typing into all that "spell by sound" stuff, we would probably have the makings of a new secret code. :roflblack:

I am told that Benjamin Franklin (one of the founding fathers) also tried to have our spelling resemble phonetics, as above.

Theres one in the woods behind my house and she comes out once and awhile and checks the leftovers under the bird feeder.
Suggested to wife that we'd have free turkey for thanksgiving but she didn't think that was funny at all! :yikes:

thank you.
When I wrote the potato piece my spell checker kept flagging my spelling of potatoe.
And so I thought that I could live with the HD making a sound like tomatoe

But alas, it it turned out I can't spell worth crap.

I still love it though I told my wife what goes potato, potato, potato, potato on our bike ride last night :D
