Looking for some feedback on install of the fancan on a 2012 RS.

I know that they do not have one currently available for 2012 but wondered if anyone has adapted a prior model with success. How much cutting or redesign needs to be done to fit the 2012.

ISCI does have one that fits a 2012...I have it on mine...it goes on very easily with no cutting, just loosen a few bolts/screws slip it on and tighten back up and done. Almost that fast too. It really helped the heat issue on the right side by your foot...it diverts the hot air down instead of out the existing vent hole.

Hi Paula.

Did you order off website and if so, which FanCan? They have the original for the 08,09 and the newer version which even fits the 2011.

When we stopped in at ISCI in late May to see about getting one for my 2012 RT, they told me that their existing fancan only fit SOME of the 2012's. They worked on the 2012's only if they were models that were in production early in the year. Once BRP made design changes for 2013, some of those changes went into effect for the 2012's that were produced later in the year. They expected their modifications to the mounting bracket would be done sometime this summer. This is why the webpage didn't list having them for 2012's. You should contact them (call/email) to see whether it will work for your Spyder. (They physically looked under my Spyder to determine it was produced later in the year so I'm not sure how they'd tell you where your 2012 fits in the scheme of things).

I have an ISCI fan-can from my 2011 RSS that I would sell for $75 shipped if anyone is interested. I can accept paypal to make it a quick and easy transaction.

I bought it at Spyderfest last year...I'd call them and ask which one they would suggest for a 2012. I believe it was the 2011 version but don't quote me on that. Here is their phone number: 334.277.2224

I read a old thread on this, I see the idea of it but putting all that hot back on the engine and everything else , anyone with one of these have any long term riding reports? I'd like to see one direct the air down under the bike. On mine I feel some of the hot air but mainly cause of the small gap between the body panel and the shroud around the radiator, a little bigger air deflector from the fan catching all the air from the radiator and pushing it out the side I'd think would work pretty good. Any thoughts?

The fan can does direct the air down towards the road not out by your leg the way the spyder was designed. I've had mine for a year now and rode in 100+ temps last year down in Durango and it really helped. --Paula

Here is a photo of the inside...you can see that it is open on the bottom so that the hot air is sent downward.
