My wife and and I are planning a UP adventure for August. Tentative plan is to trailer to Munising from Lewiston, MI, find a nice place to stay and take day/overnight trips from there. We'd like to go to Copper Harbor/Houghton, Drummond Island, Escanaba, anywhere scenic routes may take us. We blocked off August 8-18 and we're planning on at least a week touring maybe more. You can join us for any or all segment(s) you'd like. If you have interest email me at ronernst11@gmail.com. Since we're in the planning stages your ideas are welcome. Let me hear from you! Ron

I've looked at that website several times and can't believe this statement that they make: "Upper Michigan will never be known for its fabulous motorcycle roads, although you'll find some nice riding on my Roads & Rides page“ <------SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?

They go on to say "Still I haven't met a biker who wasn't glad he or she made the ride."

I've never ridden there and every time I think about it, this resonates in my head. Maybe it sucks riding up there? The people who are promoting it are saying it's pretty much okay but there are better places to go!!!

I just think they're being modest, here is the full quote

Upper Michigan will never be known for its fabulous motorcycling roads, although you'll find some nice riding on my Roads & Rides (http://upcruising.com/?roadsandrides) page. Still, I haven't met a biker yet who wasn't glad he or she made the ride. Upper Michigan's roads will take you to remote towns, through fantastic scenery and more often than not bring you to a warm white sand beach.

A couple of years ago a group of us did "three lakes in three days". The wife and I rode up to Flint, spent the night and met a group from the area. The next day we started up along Lake Huron to St. Ignace to spend the night. We picked up several along the way. I think we ended up with around 25 people. We had a great time and saw some beautiful country. It was a little damp but what the heck, we still had a great time. Went along Lake Superior and then down to Lake Michigan. We got to ride the famous Tunnel of Trees. I would love to do it again or maybe ride around Lake Superior sometime.

Trickie Dick (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/member.php?2497-Trickie-Dick) let me know if you're interested. Where in Indy do you live, we live in Fishers when we are not up north enjoying the summer months.
