I needed a place to store small items but haven't gotten a tank bag yet. This is a quick fix which worked out really good for me. I took a fanny pack that I no longer used, cut the straps to fit, applied velcro and ta'da' I have a functional handle bar bag to hold small items like my cell phone, a bottle of water, gloves, etc. It easily comes off and I can carry it with me or store it in the trunk (usually I just leave it on the bike). But hey, it works without interfering with steering at all and it doesn't rub on the tank area either. I love it!

I can't seem to post the pic.. can anyone help?

My fanny pack is quite small, so I didn't envision this at all. Looks like it has about as much room as the tiny Spyder tank bag. Like you said, gloves, chapstick, sunglasses, etc. Good, cheap solution.
