First Service 625 miles or 800 miles

When I left my dealer, he said see you in 800 miles. Everyone else is saying 625 miles. What is the real /offficial number? Thanks!

I agree , of course, that one should follow the "letter of the law" with this vehicle as far as maintenance, but I also have a confession--which I will probably later deny when people begin to flame me:

We weren't quite up to 625 miles before the Homecoming Ride to Valcourt, and our service department said they'd rather see it a little later than a little sooner.

So we went with later.

After the ride from MA to NY to Qubec to VT to MA, the Spyder had a bit more than 625.

Like double.

Brought her in for the service the following week and I really thought I'd get hollered at, but they did the service and took my $$ happily and it runs very well now. (It was fine for the whole trip, just a bit of popping through the Micron exhaust the last few hours.)
