Let me first say that I have been married to the same crazy woman for 45 years (anniversary last week), I say she is crazy for putting up with me for so long. Until we got the Spyder we did not go away all that much and a lot of the times either she went alone or I did (no particular reason) but since we got the Spyder we are gone together way more often than we ever did. Thank you BRP for helping this old man get back in the wind.

since we got our roadster we are out together more than ever before. Seems that the car limits more to where should we go. The roadster it's just point and go, we have gone more places we would have never gone in the car..thanks..!! :ohyea::ohyea:

My wife, Spyder_Cowgirl, stole my Spyder.:banghead: After crashing 20 years ago on her "very custom" BMW K75LT" she hung it up until I brought the Spyder home so I could have something to ride when I didn't feel like holding my hog up after my accident. But I got my riding partner back!!!!!

My Wife and I are the same:yes:. Will hit the 45 yr mark in November of this year:bowdown:. Until two years ago we would sit around and wonder where we were going on our next trip. Then in 2011 while at our daughters home in Oak Harbor WA our daughter convinced me to get my MC endorsement. One week after getting the endorsement we bought a 2011 RT-S Orbital Blue Spyder. Every since that date my wife ask where are we going this week. While in Washington the past April and May we put about 900miles on the RT-S in the rain. We have been retired for three years.

I've been riding motorcycles for over 35 years and other than a spin around the neighborhood once and a while my wife never rode with me. It always made me feel like I had to rush home after a club ride or going overnight was somehow wrong. When I got my '09 RS she would try a ride once in a while but still no go. Finally I purchased a '12 RT-S and she is with me 90% of the time. Every darn ride every darn trip! I never knew how good I had it! Actually just kidding around. It's been great now that we are both retired to go off and just spend time together that we never seem to have had before.

Happy Anniversary by the way, 45 years is a great accomplishment, especially since she's been married to you for all of them. :)...LOL.......ring the bell 4 times....(more hose) anyone in the Best Western after parties will get that one:thumbup:

Cruzr your the reason your wife goes with you on the trips now, you always drive!!!

As much as I would to say along with the rest of you. I can not say I got my riding buddy back. Just the opposite thing going on here. She is having problems with the big frontal muscles inherent upper legs. An she has legs that go from here to the moon. She an mount and dismount about 5 times in a days ride. And between 1 and 5 it goes down hill fast. She has to reach down and grab a chunk of jeans and drag that right leg up an over.

She has tried EMG'S, Physical Therapy, exercising, walking (her ability to walk is down to less then a mile a day) next test is an MRI. We have tried MD's, Internist's, DC's, Orthopedic Specialist's, things on our own with minimal to no success. So I a riding solo more and more.

Getting old is definitely not fun, easy or for wimps.

Awesome! My wife and I will be married 3 years this August. I hope getting one will do the same for us! We are doing great but don't have a lot of shared interests so I am hoping we will both be able to travel and enjoy it more than a car or a bike.

Bob that is the muscle that cramped up on me this weekend because of the disk touching the nerve in my back. I caused that muscle to cramp up for over 3 hours till the dr got to my house with atavan(spelling) and toradol. I understand her frustration with not being able to lift her legs. The cramping actually caused my muscles to give out.. they now feel like i have run a 1000 miles and done a million leg presses. That episode was sat morning. I am just now able to pick my left foot up over a few inches. I still have to be careful what I do. I stepped off the trailer which is no more than a foot tall and planted my left foot and fell to the ground. I broke my pinky toe and scraped my knee. Tell her I hope they find out why its happening to her. It is really strange to THINK you can do something and your body just wont cooperate. ...

Sent from my Galaxy S3. I may have made a spelling error or may have some grammer issues. My fingers are way to big to type on this tiny screen!

We just got our spyder, but have been married 17 years. We love to travel together, but have a 5 year old and a 12 year old, so our riding time will be limited at first. I am happy to say that she enjoys riding with me and I hope this will be a common occurance as I have a lot of hobbies that she could care less about. BUT, thats one main reason I wanted a Spyder...to get more things we like to do together. Families that play together....

It'll be 44 years in August for Linda and me. When I got the Spyder last October and she got her MP3/500 we thought we'd ride together, but she never could get comfortable on the MP3 so together was 2 up. Then in April she found and bought a 2013 Ural Tourist and we're usually out for 100 miles or so a couple days a week weather permitting. No long trips yet, the dogs expect to be let out and fed and none of them are happy with the side car (all too old and set in their ways) The country roads beckon and we ride.
Old is calendar pages and state of mind. ;)

Ride safe,

I was mentioning a ride coming up in October, and my wife said, we could do it for her birthday... They surprise you sometimes...

Ours was last week too, on Thursday, do we share the date? Our numbers are almost exactly the same as yours, too... just reverse the digits!
Yup, we got hitched on the 15th anniversary of D-DAY.

We ryde together a lot now too, it's the first hobby we've shared since we gave up fishing in '94.

Hey, I wasn't there, but I remember that joke! Here's another one for ya...

The Mexican fireman and his young bride agreed they would name their first son Jose.

So when she had twin boys they did name the first one Jose. What did they name the second one?

Some of these stories sound familiar. The wife refused to ryde on 2 wheels, smart lady... Brought the Spyder home and she asked to go for a ryde. We've seen a lot of the state of VA since then, also parts of MD, NC and TN. We've made new friends, became involved with the American Legion and the Legion Riders who, by the way, have a poker run the 29th of June starting in beautiful downtown Saluda, VA. Got about 33,000 miles on my '10 RT-S and really enjoying it.
