I got this Thibault rack and Givi bags while in Valcourt. They work great, much nicer than the Cortech Sport bags I was using. Of course they cost quite a bit more but who's spyder isn't worth it? :D

I thought that Shawn said they can sell the rack in the U.S. but not the bags as they are authorized only for Canadian Givi sales. I may be wrong about that as my wife kept telling him that we would be willing to drive to the U.S. / Canada border for the rack, or was that the bags. I don't remember.

One thing is for sure, he has developed a nice looking rack system. The only problem is the use of non stainless bolts that rust but he said he is working on that problem. I guess that means stainless bolts or a better rustproof black coating on the bolts. Already mine have a tinge of rust showing in the allen socket heads. The only other problem is he hasn't finalized the design of the top bag rack that goes with the saddle bag rack. Once that it done, it will be one of the nicest looking and performing rack systems out there. His latest version was on his Spyder and looked very nice but he said he's not happy with the performance of it.

Do you have a picture from the back to see what the bags look like at that view?

That middle picture is from the back but I will take another one from farther away to show both bags from a rear profile.

Also can you take a pick of what they look like open? Your pictures are big enough to see. When I went to their web site the pictures there weren't much bigger than thumbnails. What did the whole setup run? They look great without the outrageous cost of the Corbins.
Thanks!

I found Shawn's link to Youtube videos (http://ca.youtube.com/user/designitltube) of his rack system on the SpyderTalk site. He's got nine other videos showing the manufacturing process for the rack and one other demo video.

I am working on getting my pictures right now. I should have them uploaded and on here in a few minutes.

Being Shawn was selling them for 20% off in Valcourt during The Homecoming, I paid about $790 for the rack and the two Givi V35 bags. widowmaker2011 from the SpyderTalk forum told me that TwistedThrottle.com has the best prices on Givi bags. The regular price on the rack is $350. I don't think there are any american distributors of the rack yet but Shawn has said that you can contact him at shawn@itlcanada.com to find out some Canadian dealers who will sell and ship to the U.S.

Wish I'd of seen this a few days ago. I could of saved $123 bucks. Although the price I got them for was cheaper than a lot of others. Sooooo?

Woops I take that back I was looking at the flat black prices. But I got the gloss black and the total price difference is only $15.00 on them. So I don't feel so bad ater all.

Hey dude. I gotta give you your props on this site too. Every time I look at the setup, I smile. They look great and you really went above and beyond for me in Valcourt.

Thanks a bunch.

Shawn,
That rack system looks great!!!! I really like how the Givi bags look on the spyder. One question that you may or may not be able to answer right away. I asume from your attach points that the side rack system and a bushtec hitch would not work on the same vehicle...???? Did you get a chance to look at Lamonts and see if that is a true assumption?

Thanks!

Hey little John, I did see the Bushtec setup but I was pretty busy on the weekend to get a close look, does any one have some detailed pictures of their system?

Hi
I removed the panels from the V35's and painted them to match the Spyder (in Oz I could only get the bags in black.)
Looks great

The stock V35 GIVI bags are available in matte black, gloss black (N902), satin silver (A900) and gloss silver (G730).
Has anybody had a chance to see if the gloss silver matches the Can_Am Spyder Full Moon? My local GIVI dealer did not have any color samples or product in stock. I am thinking the gloss silver or the gloss black.

I believe Shawn at Thibault has V35's with the panels already painted to match the Spyder in silver 076-808, red 076-809 and yellow 076-807. The only reason I did not go to him was the cost of freight from Canada to Australia.

Anybody had a passenger up with these bags installed? I think I saw a posting somewhere complaining that
the Corbin's made things difficult for the passenger's comfort. The Corbin's look too big, just my opinion. I like
how these bags look with the silver touch up.

No problems at all. They do not change the position of the passengers legs or feet at all

Man, my wife is gonna kill me before my Spyder gets here. I have a stack of mods to install in the home office.
Now I'm gonna end up ordering this rack and bags. I have 3 more mods arriving next week. If this rack and bags
gets here before my Spyder... I could be wearing my Micron in a very uncomfortable place :joke:

BY THE WAY, ARE THOSE REFLECTORS ON THE SIDE CASES, OR FUNCTIONAL BRAKE AND TURN SIGNALS?

Reflectors only. It would be nice if they were brake / turn signals but then I think the wiring would make it a touch more complicated to be quick connect and disconnect from the rack. (and probably quite a bit pricier)

The extra lights would probably drive the computer nuts, too. Gotta see these bags in person soon. We have to try to get together somewhere.

Yup we need to make a time for a meet up. Things are kind of busy for then next few weekends, unless you want to make way over to Davisburg on the 29th. There is a really Big HIM rally for the blessing of the bikes. I think it is an all day event. We are heading down there after church but it's only a 1/2 hour ride or so for us. I will have to check on that Sat. before, the 28th and see what's going on, may be a good time for a scenic ride to Lansing, that would be about the middle point for us. We will contact you soon one way or another.

Don't know how your work schedules go, but weekdays are also alright for us now. I am retired, and Nancy is a teacher. School is out. We'll look and see what the calendar shows for the 28th and 29th.
